Title: Closing the show "Lennon"
Post by: JonnyMoondog on September 16, 2005, 01:32:19 PM
I have heard now that it is officially going to stop performing after 24th September. But it did get bad reviews and feeback, no?

It looked really bad when I saw a clip of it. Paul being played by a girl. Come on.

I heard it sucked. But then, what do you expect from something that came from the mind of Yoko.

Fairs fair. I don't think she had come up with the concept, more her backing and interference. Apparently the thrust was that Johns Beatle years were merely preparing John for his meeting with Yoko, when the real John Lennon Super hero is borne. None of the Beatle people come off looking good.
But, you get a bunch of arts school grads, Yoko and the very strong Lennon myth and I guess this is what you get. Maybe when Yoko's gone (and you can't blame her for wanting to portray her late husband in the best possible light) we'll get the real complex, confused, frightened drug taking genius that he was.
But I think you'll be taking your kids to see it.
