With A Little Help From My Friends, although his voice on Honey Don't really rocks.

To be honest, I like all of these songs, and I love the way Ringo sings in genreal, so I can't pick one... yet (lol)

But let me just agree with something that DaveRam said about With a Little Help from My Friends:

Quote from: 971
It's funny this song as been coverd by a number of good singers and none of them seem to capture what Ringo did with the song , his is the definitive version .

I agree very much-ly indeed (clap)

I cried buckets when I heard him sing Photograph at Concert for George. Just amazing! I thought his voice had strengthened and grown in confidence beyond measure.

Will have to go away and think about the Beatle ones, though. I do like Boys (the song!!) and I agree about the cover versions. Somehow no-one else can do it like Ringo!

Ringo's voice has definately gotten better as he's aged.  From the Beatles days I like I Wanna Be Your Man

Not a bad one on the list, really.   I like the animation of "Boys"--he could rock-n-roll with the best of the singing drummers.

"What Goes On": I like the harmonies with John (?)--too bad they didn't do more of this.

The comment on "Help from my Friends" is dead on.  Joe Cocker's version is great but a little over-emotive.  Ringo seems to hit just the right tone (same with "Yellow Submarine"--who else could sing that song with the faux naif pov?)

"Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden" both have an idiosyncrasy to them that make them Ringo songs not just "the drummer's obligatory" songs.

I love Ringo's singing on "Friends" and others, but let's face it, he was no vocalist. That's why I always say if you're going to cover the Beatles, you should make it a Ringo song, because there's no other way to improve on it.

With a little help from my friends is almost perfect to me, but I like too much his performance in Honey don't, a little out of key in some points but great.

I suppose that I like his performance in Octopus's Garden the best. I like Ringo's voice.

It's not a 'Beatle' song, but in my opinion "In A Heartbeat".
He sounds the best on this one. For the longest time, I didn't even know it was a Ringo song because I just hear it on a tape in the car!

But that's my opinion.

Now strictly on just Beatle songs...I might have to say "Good Night". I think the song is perfect for a voice like his!

I think BOYS is not only Ringo's best vocal performance, I think it's one of the best ROCK vocal performances ever. There's a certain rawness, energy and tension in his voice that is just great.

I think I Wanna Be Your Man had a great gusto to it. Somebody once said, on here I think, That Ringo's voice has a rockabilly quality too it. How right they are.

Love Don't Last Long is really cool and Beaucoups of Blues is good too. From The Beatles days: Good Night.
