The Ritz Belfast 1963
« on: November 08, 2007, 02:14:56 PM »

I have a photo taken after the show in Belfast at the Ritz Cinema.
The boys are all to gather and are holding a Shillelagh.
The photograph is badly cracked as it was always ripped off me to get a better look at it.
Probably the only one that exists

Not sure. There even seems to be footage of the concert (although I couldn't get it opened): http://u.tv/utv_whatson/videolibrary/

None of those videos seem to work. Sadly. I don't think there's a boot of it, is there? I remember we had a question once before about Irish Bootlegs.

I could open it with Internet Explorer. It's footage from an interview at the arrival on the airport of Belfast.

I can remeber 2 relatives of mine saying they seen the boys at the side entrance lighting up and chatting away the day of the gig in belfast.

I took this pic straight from a book I've got. Description: "On stage and in the stalls before the show at the Ritz Cinema, Belfast, on 8 November. On his way out of the venue, a delighted Paul receives an aprreciative peck from Audrey Gowar, 17-year old secretary of the Irish Beatles Fan Club.

All I can find on this is a 40 second clip of an interview on their arrival. It's on the Lazy Tortoise 'November 1963' disc. Not even worth posting. I'm assuming that as they haven't put any live material from the gig on there, that either it doesn't exist, or is of a very poor quality.

Found this, obviously from their arrival at Belfast:

It's working now, but it looks like it's from '64, not '63, and is exactly the same as the bit on the Lazy Tortoise disc, only with video. Did John wear that hat in '63?

Possibly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but The Beatles only played once in Belfast, so it must be November 1963. Just remembered that he wore a (same?) hat in Paris, January 1964, just a few months later.

They played Belfast roughly a year later, at a different venue. Don't know the details.
