Most Beatle-esque songs by other artists
« on: May 23, 2011, 04:19:26 PM »

What is your favorite Beatle-esque song by another artist.  Mine is probably "Lies" by the Knickerbockers.  It really sounds like the Beatles.

Great thread, revenert!

The Searchers' When You Walk In The Room always sounded very Beatle-esque to me...

It's one of my favorites from this group as is another very Beatle-esque song they did...

Smyle - It's Gonna Be Alright.

This group was formed in The Hague, Holland and was specialized in copying the Beatles sound. Lead singer Bas Muys later became famous with Stars On 45.

This Zombies' song reminds me to "And I Love Her".

I don't know how Beatle-y this song really is but I thought for years that Paul McCartney sang the line "My belle ami, I'm in love with you" and the little harmony part. I know next to nothing about these guys but I know now it wasn't Paul! I think at least one of them is wearing Beatle boots though and I really like the Mustang the girl is driving.  :)

And this Zombies' song seems to be a re-write of "Every Little Thing".

I know the background harmony vocal you're referring to.  Yes, it did sound like Paul.  Very much so!

The Tee Set were a band from the Netherlands. Pretty popular over here. Ma Belle Amie was their biggest hit, along with She Likes Weeds. Singer Peter Tetteroo died in 2002.

I always thought that song "Red Rubber Ball" by The Cyrkle sounded very Beatle-ish.

Naw, Kathy. We have just reached our limit on videos, whatever that is! It's showing up below as I'm writing the reply. I wish someone would explain this to me! I'm going to watch The Cyrkle from here then!

Belle & Sebastian - Step Into My Office, Baby

Amazing band. I love this song, they have a lot of songs that sound like they could be from the '60s and '70s
