Easily my 2 favorite bands after The Beatles

1.Queen- While both bands have tons of great albums, there are a lot of individual Queen songs I like far more than any Led Zeppelin song.

2.Bohemian Rhapsody- "Stairway" is great, but not as great as everyone thinks IMO.

3.Favorite Queen song? You can't expect me to pick just one: '39, Spread Your Wings, Sheer Heart Attack, Bring Back That Leroy Brown, In The Lap Of The Gods, It's Late, The Fairy-Feller's Master Stroke, Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want It All, The Miracle, Who Wants To Live Forever, The Invisible Man, Tenement Funster, Death On Two Legs, Keep Yourself Alive, Killer Queen, Too Much Love Will Kill You, Let Me Live, Innuendo, The Show Must Go On, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Don't Try So Hard, Under Pressure, A Kind Of Magic, Tie Your Mother Down, Somebody To Love, Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, The March of The Black Queen, It's A Hard Life, Radio Ga Ga, Another One Bites The Dust, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Save Me, Play The Game, Seven Seas of Rhye, The Prophet's Song, Bicycle Race, No One But You.

To name a few.

1.Led Zep - like the guitarist more, the drummer more and Plant's voice more, which I think is more rock and roll, Freddie's voice is more opera so....

2.I like "Bohemian Rhapsody" more....although I know "Stairway" is a greater musical achievment and the lyrics are more interesting, I don't know, I tend to like "Bohemian Rhapsody" because it's more sentimental and it can even make me cry sometimes.

3.My favourite Zeppelin song right now is "The Battle Of Evermore" - pure genius....I think it may be lyrically one of the most creative songs ever. I also love Dazed And Confused, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Tangerine, Black Dog, Immigrant Song, Whole Lotta Love, Since I've Been Loving You and more....

1. Although I'm not really a fan (I've got their greatest hits 3CD box and that's enough for me) I do like Queen. I never cared for Zeppelin.

2. 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. But I think both songs are overrated.

3. That's a tough one. Probably 'Radio Ga Ga', particularly the Live Aid version.

1) QUEEN!! One of my all time favorites! Freddie's voice is so gorgeous and opratic, making the songs so rich an d full. Also, the songs are so diverse to another, they have songs like Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, but they can also do songs like I'm In Love With My Car.

2) Oh I love them both, but Bohemian Rhapsody for sure.

3) Favorite song by Queen... Oh dear... um..... hmmm.... Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy or I Wanna Break Free, because Freddie's voice stands out very nicely.

Mind you, I like both Led Zep and Queen, but Queen always has a special place in my heart.

1. Led Zeppelin - I never did get why everyone liked Queen. They do nothing at all for me. I like a handful of songs and thats about it. Too Glam and processed maybe for my tastes.

2. Stairway To Heaven - I really cant stand Bohemian Rhapsody. If I wanted to hear opera,,,,i'd go to the opera.

3. Probably 'Tangerine' or 'Night Flight'.

I'm mystified as to why these 2 particular bands should be paired in a 'versus' thread - they are light years apart in musical terms.

Led Zep are my fourth favorite group after the Beatles, The Stones and The Who. I like a few of Queen's songs - Bohemian Rhapsody will always be their best, for me. Zep have so many awesome songs of high quality - I understand that Queen have legions of fans but they rank well below Zep in the pantheon of rock bands.

My favorite Zep song is 'Ten Years Gone'.

Well, I wanted to post a "Rhapsody" vs "Stairway" topic because I started wondering which one I love more and I couldn't decide, so I wanted to read your opinions. They are also kind of similar, both having the hard rock part at the end, and they are both known as ones of the greatest songs ever.
So I made the Zeppelin vs Queen thing to make the topic more interesting.

Oh dear, this is a toughie. They both hold a top spot for me.
1. At the moment, though, I'd like to say Queen. I like how on one album, you could have the heaviest song you've ever heard, then the song right after it would be something real gentle. They had that versatility, you know? Not saying that Zep didn't... The Rain Song is one of the most beautiful songs out there, but Queen's take appeals to me more.

2. Hmm... Can I say both? No? BoRhap is a hair ahead for me, I guess. It seems like it has more 'depth' in a way.

3. My Fairy King.

As a point of interest, Queen (Brian in particular) were big fans of Zeppelin... They must have drawn a little influence at least.

1.queen........by a very small margin.

2.i prefer stairway over bo.rhap,if only for the amazing drum sound of mr.bonham.but both songs are absolute classics,as we all know.

3.i'm gonna post a fave couple from each band.from queen i'd like to put forward '39' and 'save me'.if anybody out there doesn't own 'a night at the opera' they ought to make it their very next purchase.sheer class, amazing versatile songs from 4,let me say that again-4 very very good songwriters, all in the same bloody band.brian may is probably in my top 5 guitar players, too.

from zep-i'm gonna go for 'celebration day' and 'ten years gone'.mr.john bonham, amazing player, amazing sound, amazing feel,just.....amazing.dare i say it........ never bettered and never will be.

this poll is very unfair.......like saying who's the best-eric clapton or roger daltrey?

It's not about who's best, it's about who is your favourite. Nobody thinks that if you choose one of the bands, then
you must hate the other one. There are dozens of polls like this, the "Favourite Beatle" one for example. And you can also say that you love both bands equally and you can't decide.

When I think about Queen (or listen their music) - I think
that they have very humorous and up-lifting songs:
Bicycle Race, Fat Bottomed Girls, Killer Queen, Seaside
Rendezvous, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Hammer To Fall

etc. Of course, they also have "serious", deep emotional songs:
Save Me, Sail Away Sweet Sister, '39, Innuendo...
And what to say about masterpieces like Rhapsody, Champions, We Will
Rock You, I'm Going Slightly Mad, The Miracle
etc.

The bend of my childhood...

Zeppelins are also great. My favourite is D'yer Mak'er (together
with Kashmir, All My Love, The Battle of Evermore, Houses of The Holy...)
All mentioned songs are from compilation Remasters (double CD) simply
because I don't have the time to download albums from the net...

So, why not to tell the truth - I'm more acknowledged with Freddie's work
than to Plant/Page/Bonham/Jones. But, nonetheless, both bands wrote some
masterpieces...
I have CD's (original) of both bands (that means I really like them).
A lot.  8)

About D'yer Mak'er:
(or don't ignore the aposthrophes!)

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has expressed his distaste for the song,
suggesting that it started off as a joke and wasn't thought through carefully enough.
The name of the song is derived from an old joke: "My wife's gone to the West Indies."
"Jamaica?" (which has a similar pronunciation as "D'you make her?") "No, she went of her
own accord". The title, which appears nowhere in the lyrics, was chosen because it
reflects the reggae flavour of the song. Plant has said that he finds it amusing when
fans completely ignore the apostrophes and pronounce it as "Dire Maker".

Oh, this is hard! Queen was the first band I listened to so I looove Queen but I'm also a Led Zeppelin maniac...but I suppose:

Led Zeppelin because their music makes me go  :o:D8)
Stairway to Heaven because it has that amazing guitar solo in it :) I love both songs though.
Probably...Tangerine or Over the Hills and Far Away :D or Dazed and Confused...or Whole Lotta Love...Since I've Been Loving You...Black Dog...That's the Way...Kashmir...  ;sorry

On a 2nd thought... How can one compare two mentioned bands?
Or any other two bands?(Metallica vs. Iron Maiden?) Why should I
choose one or another?
Some may dislike Q, some Led Zepp, some may like both etc...
Sometimes I'm in mood for one band to listen, sometimes the other...

Well... it's not an opera!
Maybe the Scaramouch-Fandango-Galileo-Figaro-Magnifico part is
a little bit high, but so is, for example, bang - bang, shoot shoot from
John's Happiness Is A Warm Gun.
