ive heard the name of 'ry cooder' a lot recently, and i want to try and discover who he is...i know he played guitar, and worked with captian beefheart, and the buene vista social club, but dont know much else about him...are there any cds you reccomend of him?

"into the purple valley" is one of my favorites, but i've got "get rhythm" and "bop till you drop" which are both pretty good.
he also played with stones around the let it bleed time but apparently didn't get along with Keith

The movie pretty much sucked except for the Headcuttin' Duel with Steve Vai at the end, but Ry Cooder's guitar playing through 'Crossroads' with Ralph Macchio is incredible.
