This is good news, and should be a great gift for anyone who has not seen/heard this. This concert may be one of the best and/or only instances where Phil Spector's "Wall Of Sound" was pulled off in a live setting, and recorded well enough to translate to the listener. Apparently the guys from Badfinger were stashed backstage, mic'ed up and playing acoustic guitars to fill in the "Wall", along with backing vocalists. Great stuff.

Sorry no. Badfinger was not mentioned. And that's a shame it is.

I got "The Concert For Bangla Desh" as a DVD bootleg, sound is ok, same as my old vinyl sounds, the music is fantastic, cool band (only Clapton was under his real level, 'cause he was into heroin in those days), warm atmosphere, enthusiastic crowd in the "Garden".  So I'm really happy to hear it'll be released on DVD, 'cause the only thing to critsize, is the relative thin sound of the original LP, I hope, that 5.1 will change that. The unreleased material is also very welcome, so buy that DVD people, it's fine music of fine people made to help the people of Bangla Desh in 1971,
Mr. Geldorf wasn't the first concert-aid-organisator, seems to be George who has started that thing.
Whatever, it's a must have for Beatles fans, Ringo's doing a nice performance too, so what are you thinking about, buy it and enjoy it, good fun, Klaus

There's a very cheap DVD (I've even seen it for 5 euros at some stores) of that concert for sale in pretty much every record store in Holland...

Oh, and I bought the Concert For Bangla Desh LPs for 3 euros a while ago... Pretty good deal... :)
