Yoko Review
« on: July 24, 2005, 03:05:48 AM »

This was part of a review of the "YO-POB" re-issue and reads as follows:
"
...Ono and her voice are the complete focus. Her chattering, glottal vocalese, which at times resembles the performance poetry of Dadaist Kurt Schwitters, proves itself to be a powerful engine for moving non-weird rock grooves into plains of extreme otherness...
Spin  (09/01/1997)

A brilliant excercise in creative writing about one of the most talentless people on the planet.

Oh, powerful it is... Never heard a woman scream so loud. And what for? This woman was so lucky John fell in love with her. That's about the only talent (seducing) that she has shown.

I've got to steal/start using that part about "plains of extreme otherness" into more day to day conversations.  Might be good for performance reviews at work: "Well Dave, how would you describe your first year at Wakemov Corportation?" Well, Sir, I believe that I have successfully taken the Marketing effort and transceded it successfully into plains of extreme otherness."

I just read Yoko is planning to SING on the memorial concert in Tokio, Japan, this Friday. Just wonder how that will sound.

Alot like my signature below, just longer and coming from a 93 year old woman. If you want to hear it locally, go to your local nursing home, and I guarantee you'll find a wailing somewhere that is reminiscent of Yoko's "extreme otherness".
