Have just borrowed The Quarry Men through Rubber Soul from the library, and have enjoyed what I've read so far. Some of it is very densely written, and I've found I need to read it out loud to myself to follow it properly!! I also think it needs to be read in conjuction with youtube, so that you can hear the different versions of songs. Anyone else read it like this, book in one hand, laptop in the other?
The trouble is that I think the book now needs a youtubeography, some sort of listing of references to listen to/watch alongside. Anyone agree??
So far I'm having trouble finding the Jan 1969 rehearsals for Get Back, which are mentioned in the book as including busking versions of I lost my little girl, Hot as Sun, I fancy me chances, etc. Could anyone post a link, or are these unavailable??
