I know everybody hates Ike, but you do have to give him credit for the Rhythm Kings, his Sun Records recordings and his work with Tina.
But, no way is their version of Honky Tonk Women better than the Stones. That's Keith's finest hour (or three minutes). I will say that their "Proud Mary" is equal in greatness to CCR's--a great arrangement--thanks to Ike.
The problem with Tina is that she only has one voice--screaming. She can't do a whole lot more. Subtlety ain't her bag.
