Happy Thanksgiving to all memebers both here and abroad. Remember, to first of all be thankful for what you have and not want you want, and number two to enjoy all the fellowship with friends and family at this festive time of year. For no one know what changes in our live that next year holds in store for each of us. My wife and I should be celebrating the birth of our son, instead we buried him two weeks ago and are lost in our sorrow! :'( :'( :'( :'( Taking it day by day.

Bumping up this thread to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. If it's not a holiday you celebrate where you live you can still join in the fun. Just eat a lot, pass out on the couch and be happy that you are able to. It's best if you do it at someone else's house though so you don't have all the work. I may try that some year. And don't forget the c-r-r-ran...berry sauce. :)

I just want to wish all the members and their families the happiest and safest Thankgiving. I know our neighbors to the north in Canada celebrate, but I am not sure if any other countries reconized this special holiday for us here in the states. So, If you do, HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND BE SAFE! If you dont, TAKE A MOMENT TO BE THANKFUL FOR ALL THE BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE AND BE SAFE! Remember it's not about turkey, football or parades, it's about family , friends and looking at all you have been blessed with. It may not be money, but can be the smallest of things in your life. I know I have many blessing I sometimes forget, but I am grateful for.....How about you? :)

Very true; that is not a good combination.  :)

I hope not! Fortunately his mouth is so tiny he can barely pick up a tennis ball; we bought him special tiny ones to fetch. And he's vaccinated, of course.

I miss having leftovers this year! All I had to bring home was some dark meat for the dogs. They are probably wondering where the giblets are. They usually feast on those for several days. But I’ll do a turkey for Christmas dinner, in my new oven.

I just had some leftover white meat turkey, Kelley.  Delicious!

It's good to hear that you'll have a new oven for Christmas.  This way you won't have to go back to the restaurant you went to last night which might be running their air conditioner which will not amuse your sinuses and possibly affect your eustachian tubes and cause you to stifle your FMEHs.   :)

Hopefully all will be resolved in time for The Twilight Zone marathon.

I usually flip between WPIX Channel 11 which airs The Honeymooners and SYFI for The Twilight Zone.  The thing is I know all 39 Honeymooners episodes by heart so if there's a Twilight Zone episode on that I'm not familiar with, I watch it.  Otherwise I watch The Honeymooners.  Those four actors were pros.  No one could touch them then or now...

I can say that I’ve never seen an episode of the Honeymooners. My only experience is people say Fred Flintstone was modelled on the Jackie Gleason character.

Now the Twilight Zone is another matter. Love revisiting that.

That's because Thanksgiving always has TV specials and series marathons as part of the family get togethers.  The highlight is The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC.  This year it was a virtual event.  :(

I can say that I’ve never seen an episode of the Honeymooners. My only experience is people say Fred Flintstone was modelled on the Jackie Gleason character.

Fred and Wilma Flintstone were modeled on Ralph and Alice Kramden.  And Barney and Wilma Rubble were modeled on Ed and Trixie Norton.  Season 1 of The Flintstones was adult-oriented and aired after prime time.  The cartoon series became children-oriented in its second year.

I preferred older men, like the Professor on Gilligan's Island.  icon_love

. . . so if there's a Twilight Zone episode on that I'm not familiar with, I watch it.

If you haven't seen the episode "The Changing of the Guard" with Donald Pleasance, you must watch it. It's rather atypical for TZ in that it is poignant rather than creepy. It's guaranteed to bring a lump to your throat. I was unable to find the full version of the original episode on YouTube, but you (and everyone here) should keep an eye out for it.

Even those without an account should be able to view this, but just in case, the post was "How to Ruin Thanksgiving in Four Words." The replies had me laughing out loud; here's a screenshot of a some of them. A few other funny ones were "Your ex is coming," "The election was rigged," and "So that Rittenhouse trial. . . " ha2ha Thanksgiving-dinner-ruiners for sure. "I haven't been vaccinated" would be another one for sure.
