Liverpool celebrates 50 years of Beatles

August 7, 1957, was just another day at The Cavern Club, Liverpool, but owner Alan Sytner was in a grey mood. The Quarry Men Skiffle Group, local band of youngsters playing for the first time at the newly opened club, was doing covers of Elvis Presley and it was not his kind music. "Cut out the rock," he ordered band leader John Lennon.
