I just wondered if you could have met any one of the Beatles, who would it have been and why? Also, what would you say to them???
-
Only one Cause I'd like to meet them all! But if it has to be one I'd choose George. He was such a great guitarist and I'd like to his view of Paul and John. about there relationship through anothers eyes. How he dealt with not being a main Beatle, but more of a side man.
-
That's a hard question for me. I'd like to meet them all. If I had to choose one, it would be John. I'd discuss my two passions: Cars and Music, and maybe women as well.....
-
John.
I'd discuss music. :D
-
I always figured John, for many reasons.
-
I would like to meet John.
Then I would like to meet Paul in his younger days and drool all over him.
-
John.
I'd talk about anything and everything with him.
-
Paul.
-
John
-
i would like to meet all four of them because the four together form the beatles , a magnific group but one of them alone is much interesting, though they all made some good songs when they separated...but maybe i would meet John, he was a god man, but i would like to meet George too, he was an excellent guitarist...anyway...the one i would less like to see would be ringo
-
hmmmmmm....thats tough, of the living beatles I'd like to meet Paul cause he wrote so much. And if I could meet either John or George..........man thats tough, John was so influential in his time but he was also pretty abstract, and I really like George because he's such an awesome musician but I'd probably have to go with Lennon.
-
I'd love to Meet John.
-
Ringo. He seems easier to talk to and less opinionated than the others.
I think he saw a lot of rivalry between the others and he could tell me all about it.
-
I'd love to meet John and talk with him about stuff... life philosophy in general... also i'd love to jam with all of them
-
i would rather meet a fan.colleen

-
I would like to meet Pete Best...and jus say one word to him, "Doh!"
JWL
-
I'd love to meet George. But of course I'd love to meet all of them. I don't know what I'd want to tell them, but if once I'd get into that situation, the conversation would start by itself. (Exept if I faint away)

But, of course! You're the topic of all my conversations. It's, Al this and Al that. :D
-
I'd say Paul because he seems the nicest and I think I have most in common with him. Also it's be great if he let me play his guitars and I couldn't play John or George's because I'm a lefty

Spiddy kind of dances like I do. I'm more viricious though.
-
George Harrison.
-
I would choose Paul, because he is the coolest out of all four.
-
i think Ringo would be a cool guy to hang out with, so him I guess
-
Well, I would die to meet JOHN. He's the love of my life!!! But I have two different things to comment on that. First, to me it wouldn't be the same meeting JOHN in 1965 than meeting him in 1975, for example.
If I met JOHN in 1965, well, the most likely reaction I would have would be fainting and then trying desperatley getting him to bed with me! Yes, excuse me, but that's how I feel for JOHN!! He is soooo cute in 1965, so sexy and all. I really love him.
However, it it were in 1975, I'd probably chat to him about music, religion or wahtever he felt comfortable with talking.
-
didnt he go through his fat period in 65?
-
That's what he said, although I see him just as gorgeous or more than ever... Anyway, fat or not fat, I'd eat him alive!!!!
-
looks like we have a major lennon fan here
-
Paul! Young Paul not old Paul. And if I could stop drooling for a minute I'd ask him to marry me! But I don't think I'd ever be able to put the words together as he was the most beautiful human being alive and I would probably pass out from all that beauty! Meeting John would just make me nervous. I feel like I'd say somthing stupid and annoy him or something!
-
I would have liked to have met them all backstage after a concert or something.
To say "Hi," or "Thanks," or I would have like to have given them a drawing of mine. Not that I think one of my drawings they would want to keep, but I would like them to have it. Not good English, but I'm pressed for time!
-
You are right, meeting JOHN must have been very impressive. He disliked, for what I've read, stupid people who could only mutter or shout at his presence. Sometimes I've imagined meeting him in the 60's and I've actually written a couple of fan fictions about that. I'd try not to shout, I just would use my woman arms, wink, wink, ;) ;), to woo him and I don't know... Just make love to JOHN... :PP
-
I change my response to George. He had a greatl attitude to life, he was funny, and was a musical genius. I think he would be the most interesting to talk to.
-
I think George would be very difficult to deal with. I mean, he was very reticent to talk to strangers, JOHN and Paul were more talkative and open to the general public. George was very mystic and he was only interested in eastern religion... I don't know if I could sepak to him...
-
Ringo because he comes off as a cool cat ;D
-

I think the same. I thought I would choose John, but the guy really didn't want to talk to the fans much and all it seemed.....George would be a great person to sit down and have a nice conversation with......so would the other two, really, but I just like George the best of those three. ;)
-
John was pretty cool to his fans. He always stopped and talked to people when he was living and walking around in NY. Perhaps he was too nice.
-
that was a very cryptic remark Macca. Lets be happy instead :)
-
Yeah, I'm not saying that Lennon wasn't nice, he definitely was to his fans, but I don't think he'd be much for discussion and all....
-
Eh? I meant that in response to John not wanting to talk to his fans. He was real cool about it towards the end. I think if he had been little more cautious about it maybe things would have turned out differently. But then, who would ever think such a thing would happen. I didn't mean it to be a slam against John or anything!!! I'm not sure how you interpreted it.
-

Oh, I know. I mean, I think he did soften up quite a bit later on though. I think he wasn't so open at the height of the whole Beatle thing. Very complex guy he was! :D
-

Oh, sorry!!! It is a bummer isn't it. Well I'm not doing too well around here right now am I!
-
I was talking to someone on PC's chat site from his Moondog's forum who had met John several times and spoke with him. Once at a talk show taping, she handed him a letter and he recognized the handwrithing because she had wrote him so much. She talked with him about Yoko's art (Yoko was there too) and then later on the talk show John talked about how a student he had been speaking with was studying Yoko's art. (in reference to her). She also kissed him during all this. So i'd say he was pretty cool to his fans. She also kissed Ringo's hand. I wish i could remember more about what she said about her exchange with John.

I believe those were Paul's exact words
-
Well you know you're right. I wan't trying to quote him either! Bummer thinking about it as in it bums you out. Not that it happened. I would say that was tragic and devastating.
-
John, obviously. Much more to talk about, and you'd get an honest answer.
-
With JOHN I'm sure there would always be something interesting to talk about...
-
if i could choose i would pick John
learn guitar from him, play with him, and i would talk with him
-
I would have liked to meet Ringo and ask him how he felt when he met Pete Best.
-
Paul!
-
Although I always say I would do anything to hang out with Ringo (and I would), when I seriously contemplate it, I would most like to meet Paul.
I think John and George would be amazing to talk to (they're just such inspirational people) but I just picture Paul as being really open and kind of rambling on and on about any questions I ask. I think he's changed my life the most out of any individual musician, and I'd just like to thank him, ask him questions about how he writes music, and generally have him acknowledge my existence for a fleeting moment!
~ missy
-
I agree with Missy, Paul would definitely be the most open. But I'm sure John and George would have some interesting things to say, as well. I can see myself getting along well with George. he just seems really nice, and he reminds me of my dad.
-
i would like to meet John or Ringo. John made me want to form a band and become a songwrite and Ringo made me want to be a drummer. although the three of us in a bar with george and paul walking in later would make one hell of a time...and then i woke up wondering if it was real.
-
None of them. Nothing so frustrating as standing in front of one of your heroes, stammering: "Hye, I...eh...I admire you... eh... very very much. I REALLY do." Knowing that:
1. You will never be able to let them understand how much exactly.
2. Knowing you 'd like to take them home with you, you'd love to take them home, but having to leave without them.
3. Knowing that you are one of so many and therefor not so special to them as you would like to be.
I'm one of those people that think fans should leave their hero alone. Just enjoy their music.
An anecdote in this respect: a colleague of my husband once met Bono. "I've always dreamed of this moment," he twittered. Bono's reply, bored: "Yeah, me too."
-
Any of them, I su-pose ... all them, of curse!
(Ringo if I wanted partying)
-
George would be my choice, natch. In addition to hanging peacefully in a garden, which suits me fine, I'd like to talk to him about the philosophy he evolved to help him deal with the madness he'd been through. He wasn't really a convert to any religion, but pulled what he liked from Eastern and Western thought into a unique life view for himself. His views about the environment are also spookily prescient. Not bad work for a scruff from Liverpool!
-
It would have to be George. I just think he is SUCH a fascinating person. I really like a lot of his beliefs- and I think we would have a lot to talk about. And I love monty python so perhaps we have a similar sense of humour?
I would be scared to meet John Lennon. I don't think my intelligence would be up to it. He would be an incredible, incredible person to meet but Im pretty bad at talking politics so that part of it wouldnt work. Then again, there was a lot lot more to him than that- and people said he could talk for ages about 'any topic under the sun'. I would definately love to meet him- maybe the younger John more than the older John. He would be my second choice but George seems that bit gentler and more easy to talk to.
Ringo would be brilliant too though! Or Paul- although I feel I have the least in common with Paul.
-
all of them, at the same time of course. Then it would become clear with whom I connect the best. They're ALL so very interesting and intellegent (I don't want to give it all to John, you cannot underestimate the other mates)
What's more important, I wouldn't want to meet them as a fan, if you know what I mean. Wouldn't it be a much easier and relaxed conversation talking to them like we do with our friends or best friends? They're only human like you and me, no need to wet ones pants. Yeah as if that would be as easy. One can dream, right? ;)
-
I would have loved to meet all of them but if I had to choose I would love to meet Ringo. Why?? Because he's my favourite Beatle!! ;) . I would probably ask him to teach me how to play the drums, hehe. I would also talk about art and, of course, about his days as a Beatle!!!
-
It would be impossable to talk to any of them becuase i would be too busy drooling all over myself ;) but if i could talk to one of them without acting like a babbling idiot then it would be Paul, i feel that i have alot more similarities with him then any of the others.
-
Paul
-
I'd of course like to meet them all, but if I had to narrow it down to one it would definitly be Paul. He's my favorite and like my #1 hero ever, and I would like to meet him at any time of his career, now or back in the day. Preferably the Beatle days of course, like '64 or '65!
I actually want to start thinking in advance of what to say ('cause ya just never know, but yeah right, like it'll ever happen!), but it probably won't all come out the way I want it to since I'd be very excited but nervous all at once. I'd probably just say "Thank you so much for everything, you're the greatest, and I love you, I love you, I love you!" What I would really like to do is spend a day with him in the recording studio or something, and just really talk about everything and ask all the questions. I would love to carry on a conversation for as long as I want, and I would ask him to play me a song if he had an acoustic at hand!
I think if you just met one of them face to face for a few seconds, it would maybe be a good idea to have a letter written to them in advance and say all the things you want in it. Then, if you met them real quick, you could hand it to them personally so you know there's a better chance that they'll read it.

pretty impossible to meet them all now! :'(
but i'm there for Macca & Ringo ANYTIME!! :)

True that. If it was possible, I would have loved to meet Epstein (in addition to the fab four) ...

I would have really loved to have meet Linda (apart from a beatle..)

Paul for me.
-
I'd rather meet them all!!!!!! But I'd wanna meet John and talk to him. But it's impossible! But perhaps I'll meet him in paradice when I die!....
-
It is interesting, but there has been a bot set up, based on all of John's interviews and quotes, in which you can ask questions and chat, and it would almost be as if you were talking to John. It is the John Lennon Artificial Intelligence Project. Have a bash and tell me what it's like.
-
I had a go on it ages ago....Started off interesting enough but soon got boring. It's still a great idea and i am sure the AI bot will improve as time goes on.

if i couldnt meet them all, i would meet paul. i dont know why, i just love him. i would ask him what his favorite song was, cause i really want to know.
actually, i had a dream where i met him. i think he was kind of freaked out by me, which was pretty funny. i wonder if thats a sign that i will actually meet him? (and he will be freaked out?.......)
-
I would want to meet John also, I would want to talk to him about a lot of things. See what he was like in private

Given that it's been 15 years since this post, I thought I'd give this John chatbot a try and see what it's like now. The first thing it (AI John) asks is your first name. So, I typed in my name and was a bit thrown by what I got back:
We got a letter from a guy called Peter Watkins who made a film called The War Game. What are you going to do about it Kathy?
So, I typed in "What should I do?" and got back "Whatever you like."
Ummmm, OK. That kind of threw me. I thought the user was supposed to be asking questions. Plus, this sounds a bit confrontational, although it does sound to me like John.
Here's the URL: http://triumphpc.com/johnlennon/ (http://triumphpc.com/johnlennon/)
-
I had another quick go at this just now before I start work, and got this as my first "reply" after typing in my name: "Here come the photographers. Good afternoon, Kathy , I hope you're not disappointed."
Huh. I'm definitely going to read more about how this was developed. It seems sort of . . . odd.
