Name two people who turned down being Beatles.
-
Bobby Graham and Mike Smith
-
Is Graham the drummer who supposedly approached by Epstein to take over for Best? I don't count him because I have only seen that written coming out of his camp...I doubt he was offered that job. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, because the Beatles themselves were going to choose Ringo..
I was wondering what others thought of him here.
I'll have to look up Mike Smith..
The two I'm looking for are two others.
-
Smith turned the Beatles down as a producer.
-
Dick Rowe for sure and i'd have to think about the other for awhile.
-
Tony Sheridan
Chas Newby
-
Newby is correct!
I'm quite sure Sheridan was never offered.

He was. He has said it & members of The Beatles have said it as well.
-
...I highly doubt Sheridan was offered..you'd have to show me that somewhere, Best...I haven't read it anywhere.

I think it was considered, but not offered.
Stuart Sutcliffe said no to being a Beatle. So did Tommy Moore and Norman Chapman. Johnny Hutchinson was offered to be the drummer before they asked Ringo.

I love these!
Bobber got the other one I was thinking and that's Sutcliffe, who actually quit the Beatles...Moore quit the SILVER Beatles...Chapman didn't quit them, he was drafted into the army...I still don't think Sheridan was considered and I'm quite sure he wasn't asked (could you imagine him?)...Hutchinson hated the Beatles so I doubt the others would have wanted him...from what I could tell, the Beatles ONLY wanted Ringo.
-
The way Newby and Chapman quit, was quite similar. But whatever, I couldn't care less.
-
Newby's and Chapman's quitting weren't alike in the least and Chapman didn't quit.
Chapman was going to be Ringo Starr until the British army came calling him as one of the very last draftees into their army...
Newby was offered Sutcliffe's job by John Lennon for the second Hamburg tour but he opted to remain in school.
The Beatles easily could have become Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Newby and Chapman for the remainder of their years.
