Epstein's Kingsley Hill: more photos from this session??
« on: November 15, 2010, 10:43:59 AM »

These photos were -supossedly- taken at Epstein home on Summer 1967:

Does anybody know of more photos from this session??

I'm interested in the guitar and I wonder why is there. Epstein sold instruments at his NEMS store. Also guitars??

Best!! ;)

No, I'm not...  :(

But Lennon's one is not his Mayoral, as the head is different...

Anyway, Macca's is strung for a righthand player...

it looks like paul is playing a guitar that is strung for a rightie upside down as a leftie
(the strings closer to his lap appear thicker)
-
i guess like hendrix he had experience adapting to rightie guitars during leaner, less famous times - and has some upside down moves
.
.
.
maybe being forced to adapt and reverse the fretboard in his mind (when he started out) improved his musical abilities & knowledge , for that matter

oops sorry, i see that u mentioned it's strung rightie.
-
i thought u were kind of a nut obsessing about "which guitar when" when i first saw your posts, xose - but the more pieces to the puzzle appear - it's really cool. kind of like a historical detective !

I have my doubts. It looks like it, but not precisely. The guitar Paul is playing has dark words next to the ring. It looks a little different.

As you probably know, Epstein's butlers at Kingley Hill were Spaniards: Antonio García and his wife María. Epstein liked flamenco and bullfighting very much. It has been told that he had a póster of the famous Spanish torero by those days, El Cordobés, at his bathroom in Kingsley Hill...

Not 100% IMHO as well...

BTW: LINK

"...when he [Brian Epstein] appeared on the BBC radio programme Desert Island Discs on 18th November 1964, his final choice on the list of pieces of music he would take with him to the imaginary desert island evoked memories of Spain; his selection was Fiesta de Jerez by the Carmen Amaya Company..."

Is this broadcasting available on youtube??

"...Alistair Taylor was Brian Epstein’s first personal assistant and had accompanied Epstein when he “discovered” the Beatles in the Cavern. Interestingly, Taylor’s first official undertaking for Epstein was to arrange to have a number of Epstein’s bullfight posters tastefully framed. Subsequently, these would hang with others in one of Epstein’s offices in the family business premises in Whitechapel in the centre of Liverpool. Later, on 24th January 1962, it was in this long and narrow office that the Beatles signed a management contract with Epstein. We are therefore gifted an almost surreal image of that fateful day, of the Beatles putting pens to paper under the gaze of Antonio Ordóñez, Luis Miguel Dominguín, Jaime Ostos, Paco Camino and host of other figuras of the time...."

 ???

Best!! ;)

I don't think so either.

Here's a website that shows just about every guitar (with headstock and label) ever made:

Have fun!   ;D

It is really hard to tell. The picture is Paul's guitar is just a bit too blurry.
