Title: Weirdest use of Beatle name
Post by: Moogmodule on April 08, 2018, 09:03:51 PM
Apparently there’s some group of four people within ISIS accused of beheading journalists who for some reason have been dubbed The Beatles by the UK media.  ???

One of the group interviewed in a Kurdish gaol was quoted as saying “ I don’t think John Lennon would like it that much”.

According to this article it was actually hostages they'd taken in Syria who gave them the name. It was just because of their British accents. That certainly doesn't make it any less weird.

Ha ha I hadn’t seen that part. Makes some sort of sense I guess. The Beatles influence seems not to be bound by time, space or culture  ;)
