Honey don't
I LOVE "Honey Don't". My other favorite would be "Anna (Go To Him)".
-
Bad Boy
-
my favourite would be 'You Really Got A Hold On me' I absolutely love the way John sings it, its like he wrote it.
-
"Twist and Shout"
They took a party song and made into a proto Who sound and this was 1962 not 1965.
The way they turned the horn parts into hard-edged harmonized guitar parts in the break of "Twist and Shout." Again, what's the precedent to that sound?
Ray Davies on "Twist and Shout"
Ray Davies on John (NYT)
The inspiration
I thought back to when I was a 17-year-old student in the recreation room at art college and heard John sing “Twist and Shout” on the record player, and how I was blown away by his directness. How his voice cut through all the nonsense and sent a message to me that said, “If I can do it then so can you, so get up off your backside and play some rock ’n’ roll,” as if to throw down a musical gauntlet.

Probably Till There Was You and Kansas City. :)
-
Till There Was You and Long Tall Sally.
-
They made "Twist & Shout" and "Money" their own. Apart from those two I'd opt for "Slow Down" and "Words Of Love". John in particular had a knack of so transforming and branding a song that he made the original sound like the cover version!

"Roll Over Beethoven" is my top favorite cover out of my two faves. The second one is "Devil In Her Heart".I think one of the reasons I like both those covers is because George sings them both.
-
"Twist And Shout" was the first song I heard that was a Beatles cover, and nothing really topped it. It's my favourite. ^^
