McCartney bass

Which bass guitar did Paul use in McCartney?  I'm assuming he stuck to the Hofner but I don't know.

I might be dead wrong on this, but I think Paul switched to a Rickenbacker around the time of Rubber Soul and was using them well into the seventies. Can't really remember, though.

I think he used his Fender and Rickenbacker on the McCartney album. The last time he used the Hofner was I believe Abbey Road. I heard he used all of his basses on that album. From 1970-1978 he used his Rickenbacker in almost all occasions until 1979 when he switched to a Yamaha bass. Paul rarely(if ever) used his Hofner in the 70s.

I believe he only uses the Hofner live as it's pretty much his trademark. I don't think he uses it to record.

He used the Hofner during the Let It Be sessions, so I thought it would be natural for him to use it during Mccartney.  Did he not use the Hofner for Memory Almost Full?

He used his Hofner on Memory Almost Full thats for sure. He uses his Hofner for everything nowadays. Since people hardly take his new music seriously and only want to hear Beatles music he brings out the Hofner to please the people. He was more ballsy during the 70s when he hardly played any Beatles songs. Maybe at most 4 Beatles songs a show during the 70s.
