That one's in the DVR.  Once the World Cup is over I'll watch it (among others in the DVR).

Saving Mr. Banks.  I thought that was one of the best movies I've seen in years. Loved it!

Man Of Steel.  I always thought Superman was the one of the worst superhero concepts and Lois Lane was the most stupid person on Earth until I watched this movie.

This actually humanized Clark Kent instead of portraying him as a perfect god-like figure.

'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014)

Good fun, and loaded with cameos of folks from all over the place. Ralph Fiennes has never been better.

Black Moon (1975)

Louis Malle's avant-garde film about a teenage girl who escapes the final war between the sexes and retreats into a fantasy world on a country estate.  The director's love of Alice In Wonderland is very much evident.

Something on the other end of the spectrum from avant-garde:

Silly but fun. This came out in 1963 and I think Ed Sullivan definitely gave a better introduction to the following year's heartthrobs! (@ 1:44:00)

That does sound like a touching story. I put it in my Netflix queue for when it's done in the theaters. I think the last time I saw a movie in the theater was Marley and Me! I don't know if this is the case everywhere but our one and only theater plays the movies so terribly loud. I wanted to run out of there with my hands over my ears! It was that way the time before too.

In My Life, I hope you enjoy the movie!

That's so strange what you said about the loud theater!

Keep up the good work Dave! ;) Someday I'm going to read back through this thread and watch all the movies you've recommended. Well, not any where I might have to close my eyes a lot during gory parts. LOL

Gravity.  Not sure what all the fuss was about-kind of dull.

I watched that recent film, Her, where the guy falls in live with his artificial intelligence operating system.  It was well done and had a weird poignancy to it. But I couldn't get around the overall creepiness of the lead character. Even when it was at pains to show you he wasn't abnormal or anything.

The director/ designers had clearly decided that orange was in this year. Seems like half the sets and clothing were some shade of orange. Not sure if that's got some symbolic value. Perhaps a Buddhist, we are all of us everything or something.
