The Analogues in October this year.
Just saw them at Beatle Week in Liverpool performing The White Album
-
Might try to take my son to go see Ringo Sept. 19th. We'll have to play it by ear.
-
Just ponied up for the Rangworm tickets. $450.00 for two tickets to see Ringo. I'm an idiot.

Well, that's $250 less than I paid for two tickets to see Paul at MetLife Stadium two years ago...and he didn't even sing Fuh You! ;D

I've probably invested a couple grand in McCartney concerts, but he puts on a 3 hour production so I don't feel so dirty spending the dough.
I really don't have the money to be spending right now, but its my son's birthday and this is probably the last chance he'll get to see Ringo, so we went for it.

I hate to tell you what I spent for our Ringo tickets. I don’t think Ringo and the boys made near what they are used to earning when they came here to the boonies! I honestly don’t know what brought them here but I’m glad they came. It was a perfect night that I wish we could repeat.

That's great Kelley. He doesn't make it to Pittsburgh or West Virginia very often either.

Ringo was fun, band was great, and my son had a blast.

I'm going to see Graham Nash in March. I almost never do anything this far in advance but I was able to get great seats. It's billed as "an intimate evening of songs and stories". I can't wait to hear what he talks about!

Sounds like you have a wonderful evening in store. And Graham Nash knew The Beatles before they were The Beatles...

That video is kind of the reason I'm going, Barry. I came across it one night last week. A few days later I got a message from Kelsie about the concert. I'm not sure if I would have jumped at the chance like I did if I hadn't been reminded of what kind of things he might have to say. I never thought I'd want to see just one member of CSN alone.

All being well, my son and I will be seeing Elton John at London's O2 Arena in November.
I can count on one hand the number of live concerts I've attended. Elton is one of the last of the giants; there is hardly anyone left now who I'd go out of my way to see.

Yesterday I bought my ticket (Presale) to see Peat & Deasel in The Queens Hall in Edinburgh on 4th December as part of their "Giving It Laldy" Autumn Tour.

Im not going near any crowds for the foreseeable future though, and cruise ships aren't good atm.

Ok I’m now up for another concert. Nick Cave in November. However this comes under my exception as I’ll take my youngest to it as his first concert.

technically it isn't the next show I will see, because it was last night - saw the latest version of the Elton john farewell tour.
My two oldest kids (27, 24) sprung tickets for me for my birthday, the 24 yr old went with.
I hadn't seen Elton live since 1984, yikes, the venue unfortunately was a football (American) stadium and the acoustics were not great. Combination I think of playing everything LOUD to perhaps cover up 75 year old voice and there was constant echo off the roof of this cavernous building.
Even songs that were just him on the piano were over-volumed. Great catalog of course, he lives in Atlanta so he referenced that a number of times.
Found it funny, the three (in a row) songs that got the loudest/most excited responses from the crowd were when he got to the last three before the pause for the encore - I'm Still Standing, b**** is Back and Saturday Nights alright for fighting.
The crowd was generally old(er) with children brought along.
My favorite song of his is Levon, I enjoyed about half of it, then they went off on instrumental for a long time, and with the over volumed sound it wasn't what I hoped for from the song.
The band, many of whom have played with him for a long time, was very good.

It’s funny how bands fans now have collective names. The Victims, Beliebers, Sheerios. I know the grateful dead fans were called Deadheads but aside from them did bands in the sixties and seventies have names for fans? I can’t recall. What would have been good band fan names for classic bands? Maybe needs a thread for suggestions.

I don't believe I've ever seen a mosh pit at a large concert like that. For all the large-venue concerts I've been to (e.g., Giants Stadium, the Canadian National Exhibition center, the Syracuse Carrier Dome) seats were carefully assigned and you were not allowed to venture out of your assigned section.
I did see the Violent Femmes at a smaller venue in Missouri in the early 90s, and people were slam dancing in front of the stage, but my ex and I stayed safely out of the way on a balcony. (He's never been a jump-around-and-get-wild kinda guy. Too bad.) We could still see great because the club was small.

ha2ha I hadn't heard of Sheerios.
I can add another to that list: Swifties. And in the ocean liner world people who insist Capt. Lord of the Californian did nothing wrong are called Lordites. (I can bring ocean liners or Twilight Zone into just about any conversation. ;D )
That would indeed make an interesting thread.

His version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah brings me to tears. I can't wait! The usual options up here are generally limited to rodeos (which I do genuinely like), tractor pulls, mud bogs (don't ask!), and monster truck events.

For this concert the whole floor of the arena was standing room (it’s the same stadium I saw Paul in in 2017). I was glad to be tucked up in the heights although it feels a bit like you’re watching the band perform for the people on the floor. Fun concert though. They put on a great performance. Their songs have a certain sameness about them but work well in the arena and the best are definitely great catchy pop. Interestingly they brought on Gerry Beckley from America, who apparently lives part of the year in Sydney, to do Sister Golden Hair. I think Nim mentioned he’d seen America perform and their voices were pretty poor. Certainly his voice was pretty weak last night.

Interesting. I wonder if that sort of mingling is legal in the States. I always assumed it wasn't after the Who concert debacle in December 1979 and my own experiences at stadium shows in the 80s and 90s. Not having been to a concert in many years, though, I'm a bit out of the loop.
You're more youthful and energetic than I. I'm not sure I'd be up for a scene like that—well, not without getting grouchy. ;D Glad you had a good time.

Have a great time blmeanie! That's the best way to experience a concert.
I've seen The Moody Blues in concert several times backed by symphony orchestras. But by far my favorite concert was their performance at Caesar's Atlantic City. The club had seating for only three hundred and we had seats at the table up front at center stage, right in front of Justin Hayward! I saved our place cards as souvenirs...

They were very friendly in that small club venue and didn't hesitate to converse briefly with those of us sitting at tables up front during the show, including me, Kelley. After all, they're just singers in a rock and roll band. :)
At large venues with symphony orchestras backing them like Red Rocks they were a distance from front row seats...

No reason to feel jealous, Moog. But that small club took me by surprise. I never expected to be so close to the band.
What saddens me is that we lost Ray Thomas and Graeme Edge. I was fortunate to have the chance to see them when I did.

In general it was boring concert, they talked too much and they did not ignite the audience.

I'd heard about this tour but didn't realize they'd gone ahead with it. I'm a bit uncertain of how I feel about this, sort of like how I feel about AI and music songs. If they could re-create a Beatles concert like this using digitization I'd definitely give it a go.

Yeah, very enjoyable thanks. We boarded the ship in Hawaii, 18 nights sailing to Brisbane. We stopped at a few Pacific islands like Papeete in Tahiti, Moorea etc. Not much on the islands. If I had one moan it would be too many days at sea !!
We had to miss our stop at Vanuatu due to a rather large cyclone, and although the Capt. skirted around it that boat was a rockin ha2ha
A Beatles tribute was supposed to get aboard there so we never saw them. Superb Jazz band on the ship though.
Now it's back to the glorious spring sunshine of the Gold Coast. ;D

Sounds nice. Take pictures and post them here when you get the chance.
Sadly didn’t take pics or videos . It was good but sadly some of the singers had difficulty singing through their mics sometimes sang out of tune or didn’t know the words but overall was a good concert.
