Title: The underdubbed mixes of Band on the Run
Post by: Loco Mo on February 04, 2024, 02:39:31 PM
Just released - I'm listening to it on Spotify.  Interesting.  I originally thought I liked the whole album, but I really don't like the third number "No Words."

Although not the final product, it's really good.  I've got the album playing now so maybe I'll review it a bit more later.

I like the finished version of "1985" much more than the underdubbed version, which is much less climatic sounding IMO.

OMG!  Paul is so interesting to listen to!  All of his vocals, the noises he makes (a lot of them), how expressive he is.  He even incorporates his breathing sounds into his music.  The underdubbed version really magnifies his vocals with such clarity and without touch-ups or any kind of editing.

Paul is such a unique artist.  I don't think there's anyone like him.  I wonder if he is a savant.

I just had an interesting thought.  Band on the Run is the Beatles, right?  So, couldn't you call this album "The Beatles?"

Another thought:  What if the Beatles had reunited in 1985?  There would have been some discussion as to whether this song title predicted it somehow.

Actually, I now wonder why Paul referenced this particular year.
