totally the opposite from you guys - We had gales reaching 143km/hr with trees and roofs falling off.
But its not terribly cold - between 6-9 degrees but feels like 3C. It is just the wind and terrential rain that gets me.

It looks like you guy's got hit pretty hard! We here you guys are made of stearner stuff down there. I hope the cleanup goes smooth.

Luckily my suburb didnt get much damage. There are still lots of palces with no electricity and they the clean up will take a few months... (Not to mention the cost!). Some of the trains are not running...

That sounds a lot like Superstorm Sandy we had last fall.  I'm happy to hear you were spared much damage where you are, KE.

The weather here has been sort of strange the last few days; very humid with heavy storms popping up randomly. Some areas not far from us have had major flooding. Luckily we haven't. The other evening near sunset I was stuck in my car waiting for a downpour to let up with the sun blinding me! When I finally decided to get out this is what I saw:

It just rained like a cow peeing on a flat rock! Wow, it really came down!

Now that is a turn of phrase I haven't heard before!     ;D

It's a nice, warm, sunny day here; I'm trying to enjoy it, because tomorrow the temps are supposed to be in the mid-90s.

Brutally hot, at least compared to what's typical as Barry, Dave and any other Northeast US residents can attest! We aren't used to this stuff and every day I can feel myself getting less able to deal with it but relief is on the way on Saturday. I keep checking weather.com to make sure they haven't changed their minds about that! LOL

We actually got a break from the heat and some much needed rain the last few days here in Tejas.

It's hot.  It's a hot place.

It was 93F here today.  It's the 12th day this year that the temperature was over 90.

My cousin lives in Philadelphia and has been telling me about it.

Of course, that would be considered a cold front in Texas.  ;D

Yeah, heats brutal this summer but... in a few months it's going to be cold again. This is when I'm glad to be in the country, The city would be tough!
I beat the heat by getting up at 5 and doing my outside things and after work I relax and have a nice big gin and tonic-twist of lime! That keeps me cool!
P.S. I think today is going to be the worst!!!
Nope, they say tomorrow will be close to 100!!!

Wish you were here!!!
