Coldplay-X&Y

Anybody else have this CD?  What songs do you like?  I like Fix You.  And I've noticed that the verse few lines of the song What If are a lot like those of John's Imagine.

I think this cd like all "Coldplay" cds grows on you. The songs are melodic and structured with great layers of sound. I don't think it's as good as their second cd, but is miles above most music available at this time!

I agree, the CD seems cumbersome at first, but it grows on you.

I don't really think "Coldplay" took any bold leaps on this cd. The songs are melodic and well layered, but so were their first 2 cds? Oasis have offered their fans the opportunity to hear some new sounding songs which translate into "band/growth" Until Coldplay can shake off their systematic way of recording songs we will only be treated to the so called "Standard" from them.

Went to a Coldplay concert in Arnhem (Netherlands) last Thursday. True, the day London was bombed and that might have played a role. The concert was beautiful, but lacked a certain inspiration and that is the feeling I have when listening to X&Y. It is beautiful, but it lacks some kind of energy, like the Beatles had on their third album!

Yea the songs are good, but nothing extordinary like their second cd! It seems they may have over produced this one!

There seem to be some recurring (spelling?) ideas that appear in more than one song.  Like you hear of the idea of fixing things pop up a few times.  Anyone find the "hidden track" at the end?  I love it, I want to learn it.

Yes you can hear the "western" influence in the song! I think they should do a video for it and splice in some of the man in black!

All the new songs sound really layered. Their first cd had great songs that were less complex which gave them a more listenable sound.
