Title: Your favourite beatle girl
Post by: Nelson_Wilbury on September 05, 2009, 01:07:07 AM
Hey, I don't know if you do this before. I search but I can't find nothing.

Which is your favorite elephant?

Well, since I am a straight girl, I picked by personality! I always thought Linda and Paul were so great together, and you could obviously tell they were in love.

I guess my personal favorite is Linda. She seemed like a decent lady and she made Paul so happy.

BTW, Nelson, you should tell us your favorite too.

That's a doozie. I've always liked Cyn. Olivia is a total sweetheart. Pattie was a babe..decisions decisions.

I must be alone in saying Yoko.

I think the way John singled her out as the most important thing on earth is incredibly sweet. Plus, I like her personality.

 Oh, Yoko! Oh, Yoko!...
It`s clear that my favourite Beatle girl is Jane Asher. She was beautiful, truly beautiful, not like some you`ve mentioned as beautiful though actually they were not. You have just got used to them. She was talented, pursued her own career, and what is most important she was chosen by a Beatle! Paul chose her, not she him at first. Unlike Yoko, who pursued John, Linda, who bombarded Paul with letters and clearly aimed at him, Cynthia, who imagined John loved her. And Jane was very decent, cultured, educated, lovely girl in all respects. Look at my signature, they were sweet, Paul and she. Unfortunately they parted, nothing to be done.

What concerns appearance, first line-up:
1. Pattie
2. Jane
3. Maureen
4. Cynthia

Appearance, second line-up:
1. Barbara
2. Olivia
3. Linda
4. Yoko

Character, first line-up:
1. Jane
2. Pattie
3. Maureen
4. Cynthia

Character, second line-up:
1. Olivia
2. Barbara
3. Linda
4. Yoko

This is my OPINION, IMHO.

maybe astrid because -
1) she actually influenced and helped them with her photos of the band and the contribution of the haircut
and
2) she was a true friend to them before their fame

..........and a special shout goes out to mona best (pete's indian mom) for converting her basement into a club and giving them perhaps their earliest venue

I really agree with your line ups! I think that they represent them all pretty well! I think Jane was a good person, I think it is sad that they didn't stay together. It really does stink!!
But Paul and Linda were very happy together. So I guess it maybe just wasn't ment to be.

I really think that Maureen was a sweet and kind person, they seemed very happy together, but things happen sometimes I guess.

For me it is also sad that Paul and Jane separated. They would`ve been the most beautiful couple! (I will never forgive Paul! ha-ha  :P ) And look at Jane now, with all her life she has proved what a good person she is!
However, I agree with you, maybe it wasn`t meant to be. Their ways of life contradicted each other, so did their careers. And Paul was happy with Linda, that is true.

And to tell you the truth all our darling beatles changed their first girlfriends and wives, which in fact doesn`t characterize them all very positively. John was suddenly struck with love! Paul wasn`t faithful to Jane and in the end wound up with Linda. George said he loved Maureen sitting with Pattie at the Starr`s! Ringo left Maureen after she had had numerous children from him. Very bad guys indeed. Far from ideal! Far from being responsible for "the weaker sex", for their girls.   >:(

First, in all serious-ness, I will have to vote for Linda. Whenever I see photos of them together, I always think to myself "What a lovely couple" And I think Paul still loves her, didn't he dedicate a song to her at Coachella? I think...? Linda was pretty, too.  8)

And, in all silly-ness, why isn't there an 'other' option?  ;D

Yup, Paul dedicated "My Love" to Linda at Coachella, and I'm sure he has done that at other venues as well. I am positive that he still loves Linda very much in his heart. The day he dedicated that song to Linda at Coachella was also the anniversary of the day she died, and it was SO sad...

I do believe that Paul and Jane would have made a beautiful couple, but they would not have been happy in the long-term. It's true that Paul cheated on Jane, but I've also heard that Jane did not give him the emotional support that he needed from a woman. It seems that in the end, they were much happier being married to other people.

I chose Linda. She seemed, from what I read, like a very nice person who really cared about Paul.

And there's no doubt in my mind that Paul still has that spot in his heart for Linda.

The No. 1 Beatle girl is the one who thinks private relationships are not for public discussion, who has written no books about her experiences, supplied no reminiscences to journalists and Beatle biographers, has neither confirmed nor denied any stories about her, has answered no questions on chat shows, attended no seminars and festivals, and has not sought to profit from her association with the Beatles in any way. Jane Asher has kept her mouth firmly shut for 45 years. Now that, my friends, is class.

Perhaps many Beatles fans disagree... Ex-Beatle-Girl books sell quite well.

Coz without their input, we'd never have a true insight into the various aspects of the Beatles real lives. We'd just have the dubious PR guys pumping out their spiel from their well-oiled spin machines.

^I have to agree with you a bit Justin.

I read wonderful tonight, and when I got to read from Pattie's perspective instead of hearing about George's it opened my eyes to a whole different side to the story. It just changes the way you see them. Some of it good and some of it bad. But that's life.

I can also see your point too Pilzkopf. I can see why you think that's classy. Because I don't know if I'd want the world to know everything about a relationship I had with some one I truly loved.

I know when I read about her earlier this year, I found out a lot of nice things about her. And it made me sad that she passed away so young. I feel really sorry for their children. It's really awful when someone loses a parent so young.  :-[

And the little willow song is so beautiful! When I first heard it, it made me sad. But it's a very nice tribute song.

I voted for Astrid, only because if I could have been any of them, it would probably be cool to be her.  How exciting to have been around the young early Beatles in Hamburg, and to have been the one to have seen their promise and potential!

I found the documentary 'Beatles Wives' to be a typical production by people who don't know what they are doing. Their piece on Jane Asher was completely biased and innacurate. They made out that Paul didn't write any love songs inspired by Jane, just the vitriolic 'I'm Looking Through You.'

As a person, I like Jane the most; I think she's a really incredible woman. However, as a BEATLE girl, I'm going to have to go with Linda, just because of how happy her and Paul seemed together, and because he obviously still loves her dearly.

I saw that, it made me quite angry. They completely forgot And I Love Her and Here There and Everywhere, two of the most beautiful love songs ever!

Yeah!! He did love her, but I think Linda was a better fit. I gave up on Beatle documentaries unless they have the Beatles themselves talking in it, because Lord knows the truth will be streched. I like the Anthologies the best.  :)

Someone f***ed with this thread, I'm assuming during the hacking? I'd fix it but I don't remember which order they were in.
