Pixies, anything and everything. This band has made me fall in love with rock 'n' roll again.

One of the first songs to use the term rock and roll:

Wild Bill Moore, 1948

I like Gunter Lee Hill's 1951 version better though:

The term "roll" had some sexual implications back in those days, Kelley.  This song was banned by some radio stations in 1955...

Etta James - The Wallflower (Roll with Me Henry)

Etta James reworked the lyrics in 1958 to get radio airplay...

Etta James - Dance With Me Henry (1958 Version)

...Roll in the hay?

Ha! That's exactly what I was going to say! I figured that euphemism out a long time ago, at the dinner table as a matter of fact. My mom asked my dad if he wanted a roll and he said, "Not now; I'm kind of tired". I didn't know why she gave him a dirty look or why he was too tired for bread until I pondered it for a while. LOL

I'll be damned if I know and I even Googled. The title sort of makes me think of "Some Other Guy" but I know that's not it!

In 1973, Jocelyn Brown was a member of a New York trio, called Something Different. This trio was the background chorus singers for John's album Mind Games.
