The Beatles walked across "Abbey Road" 43 years ago today

The Beatles shot the classic "Abbey Road" album cover 43 years ago today. It was on the morning of Aug. 8, 1969, that photographer Iain Macmillan stood on a stepladder in the middle of the street outside Abbey Road Studios to capture the image featured on the cover of the Fab Four's final studio album. The set, which featured the songs "Something" and "Come Together," was named after the London studio where the group laid down tracks for the September 1969 release.

Frank Sinatra rare Apple record surfaces

Money, as The Beatles song goes, can't buy you love. It probably also can't buy you the services of a legendary crooner like Frank Sinatra to serenade your beloved with a unique recording. But if you were The Beatles' drummer, you could simply call in a favour from the Chairman Of The Board. The first single to receive an Apple catalogue number was 'Those Were The Days' by Mary Hopkin, which was given the Apple 2 status.

Beatles’ ‘Good Ol’ Freda’ Kelly set for fan fest here

It was 1963, and Freda Kelly was a little bit worried. The Beatles had recorded a special 45 rpm record to be sent to members of their official fan club, and she’d gotten a word from Cilla Black, a Liverpool singer from Cavern days who became a huge star in the United Kingdom.
