And The Nutcracker Trepak...

Just as good as the Disney flowers.  :)

That's one of my favorite sequences from The Nutcracker. The clip you posted is one of the most flawlessly executed dances I've seen. Impressive!

The chorus used to be my ringtone; now I can no longer access it:

Disc 1 of 'The Rolling Stones: Singles Collection'.....from 1963-65.

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the U.S. release of 'The Last Time'/'Play With Fire', and March 18th marks it getting to No. 1 in the U.K. after, bizarrely, being held off top spot for a week by Tom Jones.

Happens once a year.....'Sallies Forth' by The Rainbow Ffolly (Parlophone, May 1968).

Heavily advertised on the various EMI/Beatles' 45s and inner sleeves of the era, and sold absolutely diddley-squat.
Now, I suspect, worth a fair penny.

FINALLY GOT IT!!!!

No, not the Stones' 2nd LP on CD, but.....

'THE PINK FLOYD: THE EARLY SINGLES'.

This is still, I believe, the only way you can get the group's two '68 A-sides in the UK, aside from buying, if you can track them down, the original 45s.

It came out in an expensive and pointless box in 1992 and the only reason for buying the box was to get this single 10-track CD.

I got it for just £9 (it's £50 on Amazon), further proof that if guys in record shops know a lot about guff like Morrissey and Joe Strummer, they know next to nothing about the 60s and even less about rock 'n' roll.

My Girl's An Irish Girl

I hope you had a splendid St. Patrick's Day Kathleen! I learned something new this year. Chauncy Olcott, one of the two gentlemen who wrote "When Irish Eyes are Smiling, was from Buffalo. That doesn't really surprise me since Buffalo has a strong Irish heritage. I have a ceramic Irish doll that plays that song. I got it from my Swedish aunt! LOL

Thank you, Kelley! That is very interesting about Chauncy Olcott. I grew up in Syracuse, which also has a strong Irish heritage. I wish I had thought ahead to order some salt potatoes in time for St. Patrick's Day.

Not only is Hank Marvin a fantastic guitarist he has a great smile and always looks so happy, like he really loves what he's doing. That's nice to see.

I was looking up the song "I Can Tell" and came across these guys from Ireland. Pretty cool to see some young 'uns heavily influenced by the good stuff.

Finally got Big Star's first album on CD.
With CDs now at £3 each (why buy vinyl for £20?), I'm filling in the gaps at the moment.

Hmmm, 1972 is always pushing it for me, I sure as damn it aren't going to go beyond 1972, and I can't say I'm that over-joyed with the ultra-crisp production.
Also, the lead singer's (Chilton?) voice is perilously close to Robert Plant's scream on occasions.

That said, when it sounds more trippy/60s, as on 'The India Song', it gets better.
Pity they didn't make it in 1968 in mono.
