Brian Jones was out of his mind, in more ways than one, back in the 60's, but he formed the Stones thankfully & was a great musician.  I know John was high on drugs during the late 60's/early 70's, but his Toronto performance back in 69 is his best as a solo artist.

Brian Jones was an incredibly depressed person especially after the Glimmer Twins all but banished him from HIS band. He self-medicated himself to death. Had he not drown, he would have been a very sick man. His autopsy showed his heart, liver and other innards to be extraordinarily fatty and certainly not able to work at peak performance.

Wayne is saying that LPIT is one of his finest moments as a solo artist, he is not saying it was a great preformance. It isn't a great preformance, none of his live preformances are too great it was just a great moment in time. Plus, John never injected himself with heroin, he snorted it. He says he never injected it in an interview in 1970(the same one when he bashes Paul and talks about the breakup. I believe the rolling stones interview)
