Is not a Demo CD  is a rehearsal

True. I misspoke. But is this a "new" release? Or have I been in a coma?

Yeah, you've been in a coma. lol. These tapes have been around for a long time on various bootlegs.

I remember picking up a Silver Beatles cassette tape from the bargain bin about 20 years ago. I dont remember what was on it, but I remember thinking it sucked.

Of course it did. The value is in its historical relevance. It's not something to really listen to or play on a dance night with family and friends.

I also bought a Silver Beatles album, but I don't recall some of these tracks. It's the first time I've heard "Thinking of Linking".

I know, but I guess I was expecting a little bit more back then.

Yeah, the Quarrymen songs have been available on bootleg for years.
It has been many years since I listened to them, however, and I doubt it will be any time soon I bother listening to them again. Interesting to hear once but not much reason to hear them again.

Sound quality isn't always everything though - for years one of my favourite Beatles albums was Live at the Star Club Hamburg. I would play it over and over again when I was learning the guitar, as the songs on it were easier to play along with than later Beatles records. There's some great performances on the Star Club album and that comes across, despite the poor sound quality.
