Potential Paul Vegas residency
« on: March 25, 2024, 05:04:23 AM »

https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2023/11/20/is-paul-mccartney-going-to-take-over-for-u2-in-las-vegas/?sh=333bb6044e97

According to the New York Post, McCartney is one of a select few names being considered as the next act to headline the Sphere. The team in charge of the multi-billion dollar high-tech venue is on the hunt for a second name that is popular enough to bring in huge crowds and prestigious enough to keep the brand strong, and McCartney could be just the right fit.

I would love to see this happen. It would be an easy show for me to get to—no hassling with the hotels, transportation, etc., of an unfamiliar city.

I have my fingers crossed. I notice the article doesn't mention whether Paul himself is open to such an offer.

I would love that too

but

I don't see it happening.  He enjoys touring to different places and giving thrills to different people.  I think he would think Vegas wouldn't reach enough "different" people from "different" places.

Hope so but don't think so

That's exactly what I thought. I bet you're right. Ah, well.

He’d be a logical choice but BLM is probably right that it might not be what he wants to spend his performing time doing. Hope he does though for your sake Normandie! His duet with John would look amazing with that sphere screen.

^^^

I agree. Perhaps if he does even one show in Vegas (i.e., as part of a regular tour) I can get down there.

If he did a single show there, tickets would be $$$$$$

Hell, I'd fly there and try to see it
