^  We got the needle and cartridge and they work perfectly with our old record player.  The first LP we played on it was "Sgt. Pepper" (stereo, though).  These past few days have been so music-filled and joyous.  Lately I have been loving the "Meet the Beatles!" record, which I had never listened to before.  Much of it is so upbeat and it's just perfect for dancing! :)

My Beatles collection is pretty meager: Meet the Beatles, Sgt. Pepper, and the Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane single.

I already have them on all CD, and the vinyls all seem so expensive at the shops. I'm more interested in getting the solo stuff on vinyl. Especially the stuff I don't already have--they can be really affordable too. Picked up George's Best of Dark Horse today and am going back for Wings Over America some time.

^ Try checking out garage sales/collectables sales that sort of thing, that's how my dad's gotten quite a few.  I'm actually hoping to get out to some this year.

Some people just don't know what they're getting rid of!!!!

We haven't, although it's a good idea.  We're looking around for a discontinued old needle for an old cartridge we have lying around, however...no luck on eBay the last time we checked.

You have "Meet the Beatles" on CD??  Or did you mean "With the Beatles"?

Oh, yeah...I picked up Paul McCartney's Russian album on vinyl ("CHOBA B CCCP", or however it's spelled) yesterday for $3.  Pretty sweet!  :)

Same here. I've kept all my records in a box and carted them when I've moved. I never play them cos we don't have a turntable, but i will never throw them out because they are part of my life and growing up.

^ Honestly, now I would invest in a new turntable.  I've seen many around the $150-200 (Canadian) mark, and they come with software and a USB plug to upload the album onto your computer.  I'm not sure where to get them, there's a local store here that sells them.

Yes. Most I purchased in the late 70's. All but one are US issues.
Recently I bought Love Songs at a yard sale, very cheap.
And I just purchased the red and blur greatest its albus for 15.00 each from a used record dealer.
Are you collecting?

I've got The White Album on LP... I may pick up a few others ... Sgt. Pepper & Revolver... Maybe Abbey Road. But it's not an obsession for me. I rarely bother with my record player.
