Wait!  One more by The Capris.  It's not weather-related.  It just sounds GOOD!

Funny you should mention that Barry. I looked up at that crescent moon a few hours ago and thought of the same song!

Yup!  There were wild thunderstorms here in New Jersey earlier this evening.  Then we had that big crescent moon visible through breaks in dark clouds.  A pretty sight!

Our storms here weren't too bad but they did bring in nice cool temperatures. That humidity about did me in.

Thunder, lightning and heavy rain falling. Lightning flashes all around! Very impressive!

We certainly don't have to worry about a drought here so far this summer.

Nope, no drought! Tonight is gorgeous by far. Humidity is down and mostly sunny. A massive gray/black bunch of clouds came by and we went inside after a huge piece of strawberry rhubarb pie with whipped cream but it went by about a mile or so above us and now it's beautiful again! We are determined to spend as much time outside as possible after this winter. I've only had dinner in one night this week because of thunder showers!

Hurricane Arthur is forming off the east coast of Florida.

We went through Arthur while it (he?) was a mere tropical depression. I was hoping for a really good storm, but all we got was some heavy rain and enough lightning to make us miss one of the ports of call, boo! I was hoping for a huge storm at sea.   ;)

Huh?!?

 ;D

That would have been exciting!

I guess I'm a bit of a weather geek myself. My kids were terrified of a potential storm, and my sister joked that I'd been with my ex (a meteorologist) too long.  ha2ha We did get a nice, crashing thunderstorm on the way home, but the sailing was smooth. My dad consoled me when we got home by showing me some footage of the time he and his wife crossed the North Atlantic and saw icebergs. (Not that I'd been expecting icebergs in the Caribbean.)

Did you have a good time?

Hmmm..."tolerable" would probably be a better word. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 representing a perfect time and 1 representing me hospitalized on suicide watch, I'd give it a 4. My father was thrilled to be with the grandchildren, so that made it all worthwhile.

This is a picture of the Revere Beach, Massachussetts tornado yesterday! It's only two towns away from where I grew up in Marblehead. This kind of thing doesn't happen there!

That's really scary looking Dave. There was a pretty serious one not far from here in the '80's that did a lot of damage.

I was in Sherman, NY after a tornado in 1984(?) and there was a swath of torn up ground going on and on across the rolling farmland. pretty amazing stuff!

Very scary photo, Dave. Tornados scare the heck out of me.

I don't recall any in the mid-80s, when I was living in Syracuse. I'll have to ask my sister and father what they remember of the ones you mentioned, Dave and Kelley.

We had a tornado watch here the other night while my ex was out of state camping with my son. I must say the girls and I have gotten dependent on texting him to find out how much of a threat there is. He taught us all how to look for a bow echo on the radar, so that's helpful. Guess I got something out of 17 years of marriage to a weather geek (and I use that term with affection [tempered with rage, LOL]).

Been sunny and calm here!
