The newest single from the forthcoming record is now available on all digital/streaming platforms. Egypt Station’s estimated time of arrival is September 7, 2018 by way of Capitol Records.
Sharing a title with one of Paul’s own paintings, Egypt Station is the first full album of all-new McCartney music since 2013’s international chart-topping NEW. Preceded by two of its tracks just released as double A-sides – plaintive ballad 'I Don’t Know' and raucous stomper 'Come On To Me' — Egypt Station was recorded between Los Angeles, London and Sussex, and produced by Greg Kurstin (Adele, Beck, Foo Fighters) — with the exception of the newly available 'Fuh You,' which was produced by Ryan Tedder.
Paul recalls the process behind the new single: “With this one I was in the studio with Ryan Tedder whereas the rest of the album has been made with Greg Kurstin… We were just thinking of ideas and little pieces of melody and chords and the song just came together bit by bit. And then I would try and make some kind of sense of the story. So it was like ‘Come on baby now. Talk about yourself. Tell the truth, let me get to know you’ and basically I wanna know how you feel, you make me wanna go out and steal. I just want it for you. So that was the basic idea and it developed from there… sort of a love song, but a raunchy love song. There you go – fuh you."

Sadly I agree with your posted pic

So far 3 songs and I hate all of them (Fuh You is embarrassingly bad). This album is going to be dismal.
-
I really can’t help but think it’s missing a “k” whenever I see that title.

Yeah, when I saw the title I was hoping that was just an odd way to say “For You”. I think Paul could have let Come on to Me suffice as the album’s raunchy love song.

McCartney II...I've got to admit it's getting better, a little better all the time since I've heard these three songs. Getting so much better all the time!
-
Sounds good to me.
Paul has no time to beat about the bush these days!
-
On evidence so far it’s not looking too flash. But as with all recent Paul albums , if there’s three or four songs I can pull out and put on a playlist then that’ll do me. Only I Don’t Know of those three has any hope at the moment. And not a strong hope.
-
Do you think the issue is that Paul has always been an external lyric writer (Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby being the two best examples) while also touring extensively. Could it be he needs some writing recharge.
-
If he can find a way to recharge anything at 76 I hope he bottles it and sells it.
-
This is pretty embarrassing.

Agreed
I guess going out with grace is out of the question.

It's a bit of a catchy, not that consequential song, but I like it. It's fun.
There's space for fun in this world too. It's not like Macca has never written such songs before. Ob-la-di Ob-la-da. Another Day. You Gave Me the Answer.
-
Agree with Bobber, its a tad embarrassing imo.
Meaningless pop smulch is ok, but not for a 76 year old who has written brilliant songs in his wonderful past.
maybe he's associating with the wrong people.

Wife walked in the house yesterday saying she heard a disturbing song from Paul on the satellite radio. I said 'Fuh You' and she said yeah. She then went on to say that she guesses thats what 70+ year olds do to try and say relevant. I laughed. Just awful.

ha2ha
I hadn’t heard it on SXM so I was hoping that they weren’t going to play it. Then today It happened. LOL

He might just be happy it’s getting played on the radio.
He should have given it to Justin Bieber or something. It’d be a step up for him lyrically.
Well. The whole album is now available on download. Wish me luck people. I’m going in and I may be some time.

Have you made it out alive M?

Yeah, inquiring minds want to know.

I have thanks Kelley. I’ve listened to it a couple of times. Nothing else on it plumbs the depths of Fuh You. A couple of tracks seem ok. Confidante has a bit of a Both Sides Now melody in it but seems not bad. Happy With You has a nice feel and is quite funny as it’s basically saying he’s cut back on the getting ripped because of domestic bliss with his new love. A couple of the later longer tracks seem to have some ok bits. At the moment it’s mainly giving me the impression of being a bit bland rock. But it’s early days. I wouldn’t make definitive pronouncements on it just yet.
