Early sixties girl groups were a huge influence on the Beatles and it's not hard to see why. They all have a great sound, and such catchy songs. I like the Supremes the most but the Ronettes, the Crystals, Shirelles, etc, all kick ass.

Motown music was a great inspiration for britlanders like the guys and The Rolling Stones. (There were some famous female solists in Britland in mid 60s thanks to those girl groups. )
Simple rhythm but warm music, powerful voices and about the lyrics... well, what kind of lyrics would you expect?  8)

P.S. Phil did a good work with them

The Chiffons - He´s So Fine


The song is well known because of a serious plagiarism case: Noel Redding copied the title and changed "he" for "she"...

And speaking of The Chiffons, One Fine Day is something I could listen to on a loop 10-20 times in a row, no problem. Just a perfect recording.
