Nice, Kelley.  You'll enjoy that book...and it's not overwhelming with extraneous information.

My sister got me that book as a birthday present when it was first published.  It was hardcover then and called The Beatles Recording Sessions...

I keep it close to my turntable and not on the bookshelf.

I'm so glad this is back in print. Otherwise I wouldn't have it!

Whoa!  Now I see why.  I just checked alibris.com and saw what 1988 editions are selling for.  It looks like I have to move my copy to the vault!

Guard it with your life! There's all kinds of weird things going on at alibris.com with this. I saw someone trying to sell the one I just bought for $99.00! But I am looking forward to delving into this and I'm glad to hear that it should be understandable. That's always good. :)

I'll leave it next to the turntable where it's been all these years, Kelley.  It's perfect for reading the studio session notes on whatever Beatles recording I'm listening to.

I didn't buy these but noticed them in an electronic shop in an airport in the Middle East while I was transiting. These appear to have nothing to do with Apple or the Beatles. I assume that the word Beatles is subject to some trademark protection in most of the world. I don't know the company (eKlasse) I assume it's a company local to the Gulf States and so can get away with this under the radar. Interesting if anyone else has seen these.

So what, George?  You only live once...and life is very short.  So enjoy your new vinyl LP collection.  You have the turntable to do it with!   ;)

"Following the release of The U.S. Albums, The Japan Box commemorates the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles debut in Japan. Using the 2009 remasters, The Japan Box contains the first five original Japanese LP titles, reproduced as CD's.
The titles have been out of print since 1987. Of particular interest is reproducing the album 'Beatles!', which is one of the most well-known compilation LPs in the world, and 'A Hard Day's Night', which features the Japanese original cover.
The Japan Box uses the 2009 remaster sound, with the titles 'Beatles!', 'Beatles No.2' and 'Beatles No.5' using the 2009 mono remaster. All five titles are made of paper sleeves, with reproduced obi strips and supplement posters."

Actually Barry these are CD replicas of Japanese Beatles albums released in the 60s.   However I am eagerly awaiting the Mono vinyl on September 9th!

I should have viewed your picture full-sized, George.  Now I see the Odeon logo and the different cover for A Hard Day's Night.

Does borrowing from the library count?

'Wonderwall Music' by George Harrison (my favourite Beatles solo record along with 'McCartney') as I've only got it on LP and my record player does work at the moment.
I need to return to that particular library in three weeks time, on the exact date that the loan runs out, so I'll inevitably get it out again.

It could end up being the most expensive CD ever as I already recognise dates on the label where I've taken it out before!

4 out of 5 audiologists say obi strips make the music sound better.   8)
