STARR HAS SURGERY FOR DRUMMING INJURY
BEATLES legend RINGO STARR has had shoulder surgery in secret in California.
Years of drumming seem to have taken their toll on the 63-year-old's joints, causing him to develop painful bone spurs on one of his shoulders - an injury that more commonly affects basketball players, who use their arms a lot.
Starr checked into a hospital in Los Angeles recently, and is now recovering at his home nearby.
A source close to the drummer - who still performs with his ALL STARR BAND - says, "Ringo was told it might be something to do with playing the drums as it has meant he uses his arms a lot more than normal.
"It has been hurting him for some time.
"He is trying to rest as much as possible now and he is determined to make sure it doesn't stop him playing."
Starr's spokesperson says, "He is well on the road to recovery after the orthopaedic surgery on his shoulder."

Beatle Ed:

The End:
