Radiohead
« on: June 05, 2004, 12:33:10 PM »

Anyone listen to them?I've been checking them out lately and find them pretty interesting.they very melodic and intelligent...definitely mood oriented music.they are often dismal and depressing...but i like that kind of thing, lol.Anyways ,definitely worth checking out for those who are unfamiliar with their material.

This is an absolutely AWESOME British band who've been around since the Nineties. I thought they were huge in the States (sorry, I'm assuming you're from the States!), so I'll be surprised if no-one has heard of them... Karma Police, Creep, High and Dry, Fake Palstic Trees etc etc.........

Yeah they are a great british band and would venture to say a lot of people who
love the beatles might really find radiohead refreshing for today's music.

I agree - there a few Beatlesque moments to be found in some Radiohead tracks, such as Karma Police for example; VERY Sexy Sadie!

Radiohead is one of the most OVERRATED rock bands of all time just like U2 who take THEMSELVES way too damn seriously for their own good while they will NEVER be in the same leagues as the Beatles or Led Zeppelin or the Sex Pistols.

Radiohead is a great band..not in the same league with the beatles or Zeppelin, but a nice reminder that people can still make great music....if you're new to the Radiohead thing check out "OK Computer".

I like a few Radiohead songs but I'm not an avid listener of their music.

That's one of their songs that I really like. I also really like Street Spirit (Fade Out) and Just. Other than that I don't know much of their music.

Magnificent band!

1. Kid A
2. OK Computer
3. The Bends
4. Pablo Honey
5. Amnesiac
6. Hail to the Thief

Their last two albums have kind of lost me....but there's no denying all the great tracks from the first four.

I have been listenting to Radiohead since Pablo Honey and I can tell you anything you need to know about them. I also know that they know they won't be up there witht The Beatles. Their music is constantly chaning. Instead of taking the Beatles approach, they took more of the Miles Davis approach which is not having two albums sounding exactly alike. They constantly reinvent themselves.
Also, to those who only listen to 'Creep', is like saying you only listen to 'Twist and Shout' from the Beatles. They have songs that are millions of times beter that that song. As a matter of fact, the song is almost a joke to them and their fans. They dispise the song.
