modern day for Barry is The Bangles  ;D

I've got to admit it's getting better.  When I came to this Forum in 2006, I was musically stuck in January 1970.  Now I'm up to 1986!    :)

Did "Revolution 9" survive?
Ha, not a chance!  Same with "Good Night", "Honey Pie" and unfortunately "Long, Long, Long".  Maybe even "Cry Baby Cry", can't remember now.  But they are all on my iPhone, so it's not like they are lost.  icon_good

I always liked the slightly hyperteloric look myself  ;)

However, I think the girl looks a bit plain because she has the misfortune to be competing with the image of the gorgeous Susanna Hoffs just above her...

Did you know that the star Susanna idolised above all others was John Lennon? She fancied him like mad, apparently. Read it in an interview with her years ago.  8)

I grew up listening to the old stuff, then in the 80's I fell in love with Heavy Metal, but always revert back to The Beatles! I must be getting old!!!!  icon_redface

Ha. I dig the sprawling nature of the White Album. From the calming beauty of Dear Prudence, the silly fun of Wild Honey Pie, the madness of Revolution 9 to Helter Skelter's loud and heavy sound. The album has it all. I'm glad they released it as one big piece of 30 songs and didn't split it up, or remove anything. That's part of the appeal for me.

Got the coolest 2018 Beatles calendar for Xmas. Its 1968 themed and modeled on the White Album and other photos from that year. Even has the 'worn' disc look on each page like the WA

Normandie

Sounds nice, Stevie!

The White Album is still my favourite Beatles album. It's the first one I listened to from start to finish over a decade ago now. Apart from loving the songs, I'm a big fan of the era in general. How they all looked, and how it was a huge effort from everybody involved. It's like their last hurrah before truly winding down the band with Let It Be/Abbey Road.
1.The Beatles 2.Sgt. Pepper 3.Abbey Road 4.Magical Mystery Tour 5.Rubber Soul 6.Revolver 7.Help! 8.Let It Be
9.A Hard Day's Night 10.Please Please Me 11.Beatles For Sale 12.With The Beatles 13.Yellow Submarine

I agree with George Martin, should've been a single album

USSR
Prudence
While My Guitar
Blackbird
Glass Onion
Savoy Truffle
Warm Gun

Birthday
Yer Blues
Obla Di
Revolution 1
Bungalow Bill
Helter Skelter
Goodnight

After the release of the Esher tapes I would like to revise my included songs in the single album.
I would now take out Savoy Truffle and Yer Blues and replace with Junk and Not Guilty.

Junk is a nice tune. I'm surprised it didn't make it onto a Beatles album.
