Jeannie C. Riley was pretty cool.  That album was a concept album just like Sgt. Pepper's.

I got a bunch of albums when someone I know was cleaning out their dad's things. I didn't save all of them but I thought this was a keeper!

Darn right it's a keeper.  Harper Valley P.T.A. made Jeannie C. Riley the first woman to top both Billboard's Hot 100 and the U.S. Country Single's charts with the same song.

Plantation Records rush-released her single when they learned that both Billie Jo Spears and Margie Singleton had just recorded the song as well.  Good thing they did or the song would have sounded like this...

That's so funny Barry! Loretta could certainly get away with this because, well she's Loretta. I still think though that even if she wasn't a little off Jeannie would still own this song. Oh, and I wonder what was up with the Collie traipsing through. LOL
