Title: The Authorised Biography

I bought a completely updated copy of Hunter Davis' Beatles biography yesterday - it is SO much better now! The book is a much larger format and has been completely over-hauled! The reproduction documents and photos are excellent quality at last and are printed on high quality paper.

This is the third edition I've ever bought, but is BY FAR the best!

Absolutely.  The updated preface itself is worth the price.  While the body is still somewhat dated, it is the only authorized bio ever and worth a look.

I have to admit I still haven't read the Hunter Davies biography on the Beatles yet which is supoosed to be excellent I have heard.

I read this verison but i skipped the long intro because i hadn't read the original  book i suppose some day i'll get round to reading the whole thing but too many books and not enough time.

A strange question.... is Hunter Davies still alive? I kinda remember someone telling me that he died last year.... I hope I'm wrong.
