As I posted, and I think a few picked them up, has anyone been listening to the Multi Track Mogg Files?
http://www.casadejoe.com/files/G.%20Morrow/The%20Beatles%20-%20MOGG%20Files/ (http://www.casadejoe.com/files/G.%20Morrow/The%20Beatles%20-%20MOGG%20Files/)
In listening to the separate tracks, there are some true treasures to be found. I am hearing stuff that I had no idea was in the mix.
Anyone else?

I pulled a few last weekend, fun indeed.
What were some of your finds?
-
Me too. I used Audacity.

It was Paul. ;)
-
I have used Audacity for a long time. It was cool taking just the guitar solo in A Hard Day's Night slowing it down 50 percent. I didn't know that there is a lot of piano in there.
I also love the strings in All You Need Is Love.
Oh, there was one... the vocals... I will have to get back to you...

This sounds interesting but over my head. Is it anything like what they did with Eleanor Rigby on Anthology 2?

I'd bet you'd be able to do it IML. Audacity is a free download, install it. Grab some of these files, open them in Audacity, each "instrument" is placed on its own controlling line of Audacity. You can mute any/all and listen to isolated things. Very easy to play around with. Eleanor Rigby strings is one I've always loved listening to by throwing the balance out of whack. Haven't yet pulled that one into Audacity though. Will do now.

Can't find Eleanor Rigby! Noooooooooooo

Thanks for the info blmeanie. It sounds doable and fun. :)

I'm getting great pleasure from listening to bass only on some songs. While My Guitar Gently Weeps, about at the 2:35 mark, the bass by itself is not anything I've ever noticed before.

Eleanor Rigby wasn't on The Beatles Rock Band so there's no MOGG file for it. Anyway, there was just a string ensemble backing and it might be hard to process each instrument separately.
But at least we have the Anthology string ensemble backing track to listen to. And sing to.

I was amazed the first time I listened to this. That and the vocals-only Because.
-
Yes, I agree with comments about Eleanor Rigby and Because.
I like being able to, in the reverse, listen to the instrumentation of Because.
-
I'll have to clear up some space on my hard drive and get all these downloaded - have downloaded a few and played around with them today and they are brilliant!!
Made my own remix of Nowhere Man vocals on top of And Your Bird Can Sing guitars, just messing around, but it was fun to do.
I will have to transfer each separate track to my ipod and give them a proper listen at some point.

That is so cool! Thanks for posting it Barry.

Nya fech! Ma aloonda.

It obviously shows multi tracks when you open a MOGG file..
question:
can you record multi tracks in audacity like say cubase or cakewalk, if so then thats a hell of a nice freebie :)

I use it to fix files that I have. So I am not an expert on it. As I have played around with Audacity, and what familiarity I do have, I would have to say, yes you can record multi tracks with it.
There is a lot of "Free" software out there that is professional/commercial quality. Gimp (Photoshop), Inkscape (Illustrator), Scribus (Pagemaker), etc.

I like it too but at the same time it leaves me yearning for the vocals. I think it is a song where the vocals are an instrument (more than other songs) and to not have them is like listening to just the bass line of a song. Fun/cool to do once or a few times but your not likely to do it often.

I quite agree, blmeanie, especially with their magnificent three-part vocal harmony in Because.
-
That extra bar on I Am The Walrus keeps missing itself on every version, especially the Rock Band release because it keeps being heard on the US single alone. By the way, I sent you the extended versions of the Rock Band version of this song because I made my own stereo mix of these forgotten beats. Right, mate?

Yes you did, Daniel, and it was excellent. Why don't you post the link to the download center.
-
How do I do that?

Here, Daniel. Let me post the link you sent me: http://www.mediafire.com/?kmrm5pbpa5mzp3p (http://www.mediafire.com/?kmrm5pbpa5mzp3p)

Gary,
That link doesn't seem to work anymore. Do you happen to have an active link to that site still? I'm interested in hearing some of these mogg files. Thanks.

Try Torrent, Matt: http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6569388/ (http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6569388/)
Welcome to the forum.

Ive done some solo gigs with Backing tracks with me singing & playing lead guitar, Ive discovered I can download a mogg file and remove the lead vocal and lead guitar tracks and have THE perfect backing track (played by The Beatles), Ive done Walrus & Something up to now, its so easy ;D
Im gonna be doing more solo gigs in 2013 so this will be a great way to go, I can also get Guitar Hero mogg files as well.

Are there Across The Universe Moggs?
I could jig it well.
