Title: The Beats (Beatles tribute band)
Post by: Hombre_de_ningun_lugar on April 02, 2009, 04:41:18 PM
The Beats is an Argentinian Beatles tribute band, chosen as the best Beatle band of the world in a Liverpool festival some years ago. I invite you to listen to their versions of songs written by Lennon & McCartney but not recorded by the Beatles. They sound as if they really were the Fab Four!

"A World Without Love":

The links lead to zip files that contain the mp3 files. You have to download the zip files to listen to the songs.

http://raintribute.com/  Pretty good! I listened to Get Back (they've got the whole song), Fool on the Hill and Can't Buy Me Love - not too shabby!

Not a bad gig - make a living being a fake Beatle. I'd do that!

I had my chance but was too busy to do it, the drummer of this band wanted me to play guitar with them - http://www.getbackband.co.uk/

Dude!

Too busy doing, like what, saving the universe from evil?

Would take a lot to keep me out of it, I gotta tell you!  :)

I saw the Beats live in 2005, they have a great show. They play music from every Beatles period.

Just got back from seeing them here in Buenos Aires and found this thread on Google. I saw Rain earlier this year in St. Louis...both excellent. I think Rain was better, but I only say that because The Beats struggle a little with lyrics, not being native English speakers. The Beats also stuck to the hits (for the most part...they delved into Love You To, The Night Before, You're Going to Lose That Girl), whereas I seem to remember Rain playing a bunch of songs you wouldn't consider to be "hits."
