Wow, found this on Rhapsody! I had no idea Bing Crosby and Al Jolson ever collaborated.  :)

That's great Kathy! Der Bingster was quite handy with the patter. I love when Pandora dishes up something I've never heard before, like this one of Bing with Bob Scobey on trumpet. I always had a feeling that this was an old song when Cass Elliott did it but I wasn't sure.

Wow (again); thanks for posting that, Kelley! I love it! I had no idea it was an older song. I love how he kind of va-va-vooms it at about 2:05. I am definitely going to look for that one on Rhapsody, because I already have Cass Elliott's rendition, and the kids and I love it, plus my older daughter plays the trumpet in the school band and will really enjoy that awesome trumpet playing.

Bing Crosby used to go to my former church in rural Nevada. I was so thrilled to find that out when we lived there. It was a boring, tiny town (Elko), and I knew he used to own a ranch near there but had no idea he'd attended my church (although it makes intuitive sense, because I knew he was Catholic and it's the only Catholic church for miles). When I helped proofread a book on the church's history I read all about it. I would probably freak out -- excuse the childish parlance -- if I heard his voice singing a hymn behind me.   ha2ha

I'm glad you liked that video Kathy. That sounds like the kind of book I'd enjoy proofreading. I'm sure the parishioners didn't pay very close attention to the service when he Bing was there!

I like that song.  :)  It sounds so familiar....I'm not sure, exactly, what it is, maybe the whole 80s-ish sound.

Still on my Bing kick, with an old favorite. It's impossible for me to not sing along with this one! I've been driving my kids batty in the car.  ;D

Benefit-Jethro Tull.  The Steve Wilson Remixes.  Right now, I'm listening to the 96/24 Stereo (LPCM) on the audio DVD. Sounds great!

That's from the 1936 movie Rhythm On The Range...

You got Louis Prima, Martha Raye and Roy Rogers in that bit.

I saw that on YouTube, but it didn't sound the same (i.e., not exactly the same) as the song I posted, which is the one I first heard on cassette back in the 1990s.

Time to start tracking down his movies. I'll probably start with this one.  :)

Barry, your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I had no idea that song went so far back! I like Louis Prima's version 'way better. I had to smile at the female singer, though -- she looks so bored! The men seem to be having fun.

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this title was Lucy and Ethel's version, @2:34 LOL:

Thanks to you, Kathy, I can have a better default version now!
