If it is real, and I truely doubt it is, it would be a major discovery.

EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Beatle Stu Sutcliffe's sister tells why voice on song is him

It came out of nowhere, but the news earlier this week that a song existed by former Beatle Stu Sutcliffe, who died in 1962, brought all sorts of questions. Where did it come from? How does anyone know it's him? Pauline Sutcliffe, Stuart's sister, has provided us with some answers in this lengthy exclusive statement we received Wednesday. We're running it as we received it:

EXCLUSIVE: Two who knew ex-Beatle Stu Sutcliffe weigh in on song controversy

Is it one-time Beatle Stu Sutcliffe or not singing on the recently unearthed version of "Love Me Tender"? The statement from Sutcliffe's sister Pauline about why they believe it's him hasn't ended the debate. Actually, it's only intensified it.  Several have pointed to the similarity the song has with the version in the movie "Birth of the Beatles," leading some to wonder if the new version was an outtake from the movie. We contacted two people who personally knew Sutcliffe for their opinions about the song. First, we asked Bill Harry, founder and editor of Mersey Beat. Here are his thoughts:

Roy Young will tell you that this isn't Stuart singing. To me, the voice sounds too old. Although 50 years have passed, I don't feel that Stuart's voice on this version is right. Remember, I used to book them for the art college dances and was the first to listen to their gigs from the moment he joined them. In fact, on his very first appearance with them I was in the room behind the canteen, used as the dressing room and Stu proudly handed his new guitar over to me and I began to strum it and noticed bleeding as it took the skin off the top of my fingers.
Incidentally, that 'Life' quote attributed to John, isn't from John, it appeared years before in the Reder's Digest.

Hmmm, I'd love it to be true but am v dubious  -  bit obvious song choice? The only song the biographies ever link with Stuart?  Or maybe that's what makes it real. But doen't have that 'feel' for me, can't explain it any better than that.
