I can't wait to see this! I wonder if there's some way to find out where it will be shown. It would be great to see it on the big screen.

Omigosh, that looks fantastic! I really hope it is released nationally over here. I'd be willing to travel to see it on the big screen, though.

It'll be released on Hulu right after its release in theaters.

But I wanna see it like people saw the Beatle movies; in a theater.

If this film does nothing more than dispels the "The Beatles couldn't play live" meme that still persists it'll have done a good job. While their performances were patchy once their fame kicked in, there's plenty of documentary evidence of how good they could be live when at their best. That despite ear shredding screams with no fold back monitors to hear themselves properly.

Find one showing it that's not a multiplex, if there are any.

There are still some of those around here that show first run movies. But I doubt that the film will find its way here to any type of theater.

Kathy, you can sign up here for ticket news. I'm giving that a shot. I'll still probably have to go to Buffalo but that's okay!

I'm hoping for the best for this film.  It's by Ron Howard so it should get into some big-screen theaters.  But for how long?  What concerns me is that Hulu announced that it will begin showing the film on their site the day after its theater release.

Thinking back on my times seeing Beatles films on the big screen, the one experience I enjoyed most was taking a girl out to see Yellow Submarine in a New York City theater in February 1969.  We stayed for two showings.  When we left the theater, we walked to the subway in silence, looking around at the buildings.  Then we both said, in unison, "Everything looks so drab!"

There's nothing like seeing a film on a big screen!

I'm a bit perplexed by the film's tag line "The band you know. The story you don't"  :o Is there really anything about The Beatles story we don't know that isn't in the many hundreds of books?

I reckon his investigation turned up a few things here and there.

Thanks, Kelley! I'm hoping it will at least come somewhere near me. North Dakota isn't exactly the most cosmopolitan state.

Those were my first two thoughts, Barry. I would definitely prefer to see it on the big screen. I have my fingers crossed.

I think they're trying to hype it up for more casual Beatles fans who don't have the dedication all of us here do.

We'll cross our fingers, toes, the street, purposes and whatever else we have to.  I might even have to cross the border...into Canada. ;)

That would happen after just one time through but after two it must have been almost unbearably dull in the real world![/quote]

I never go to the movies because there's not much new that I want to spend that much to see. But there's a couple of nice old restored theaters in nearby towns that show older films and local theater productions. I'd go there. I would love it if they would show The Lemon Drop Kid at the Ray Evans Theater in nearby Salamanca.
