She sounds like she's half asleep.

..like in a dreaming state..

I personally think she nailed the song.

I hate Fiona Apple's version. She sounds like she's half asleep.

Well, that's here style... I think it actually sounds pretty good on Across The Universe because it is kind of a lazy sounding song.

Yeah, but she sounds drugged. John just sounded wistfull. I mean, i'm glad people like her version, I just don't. I don't like her take on it. Too slurred.

I just saw clips of the performance on Entertainment Tonight and it was enough for me. I thought it was horrible.

Yes, sad part is that since it isn't one of their greatest known hits, most people will think it is her own song.

The thought kills me.

The only one who was consistantly good was Steven Tyler on the maracas...

;Di love him! i missed this performance, but it sounds like they didn't do too good a job. oh well...i mean, i'd be surprised if they all did, cuz who can do a beatles song better than the beatles themselves, u know?  :)

Did they ever rehearse this? It sounded like nobody knew the song, especially Stevie Wonder. Alicia Keys oversings everything. She totally messed up the duet with Ray Charles at the Super Bowl, singing all over his parts, and she totally oversang here too. She needs to calm down. They picked a hard song to begin with-John was never even satisfied with any of his versions, but the version on Let It Be is intricate and beautiful. These guys had the intricacy of a sledgehammer.  They made it sound horrible.

It seemed like they all wanted to be heard and were like fighting for the spotlight.

I heard it was terrible. if I was home, I would have watched it in hopes of Paul and Eric making a grammy but they didn't. I think the stupid thing is based on popularity, not talent anyway! Blah!
