I guess it's about the movie.
I first saw it in 1998

A few weeks [maybe a month?] ago. Got it on DVD for 11.99! =D

About a year ago, I would have seen it sooner but with all the hype about it being horrible I was like forget it, but it was much better then the hype

I saw it in the early Eighties - a TV channel was showing one Beatle film per day (I think it was Channel 4) and I had to rush home from school to watch them because they were on really early for some reason. In that series they also showed the Shea Stadium film! Unfortunately I didn't have a video recorder! :(

Channel 4 ^ What a Channel 8)
I remember first getting into the Beatles, and suddenly finding out they done films, which was something else to get my teeth in. I got my dad to buy me Magical Mystery Tour Video (which was ridiculously over-priced) and remember aftwerwards wanting to get up and record my own music/surreal film :)
...My dad thought it was rubbish.. :)

When it was premiered on British television. Didn't like it a lot, thought they'd lost the plot big time.

Saw it at a theatre, 1977?
It must have been terrible in black and white on TV

I love this film so I'm going to give this topic the old bumperoo. I first saw it in May of 2011. Prior to joining the forum I had only ever seen the clip of "Your Mother Should Know", featured in the Anthology. I thought it was so cool but I had no idea what is was from. Then I came here and discovered the whole thing, clip by clip. When I finally got the DVD from Netflix I was a bit disappointed in the quality since some of the clips I'd seen had been spruced up pretty well. But I had a great time watching it anyway. Now I enjoy the restored Blu Ray but I always think of how much fun I had discovering it right here.

I don't think I watched it til it came out on iTunes a couple of years ago. I might have watched it on VHS in the 80s but if I did it clearly wasn't a life defining moment that stuck with me.
I can't claim it's one I wanted to watch too much although there's some good moments. I thought if they'd edited it more and marketed it as a video clip package with linkages rather than an actual film it would have fared a bit better as well as being ahead of its time.

1974 at a movie theater.
I bought a VHS copy in the late 1980s and the restoration box set in 2012.

On December 21st, 1979 on BBC2. It was only the third time it had ever been screened on British television, and marked the start of "The Beatles At Christmas" TV season. Two days later I saw the Shea Stadium film for the first time, as part of the same series.
I remember the press making a big thing about how each former Beatle had had to agree to the screenings before they could go ahead.

I cant remember. I bought it on DVD at some point, but I think I had seen it previous to that. Honestly, I think it was sometime in the 90's.
