New acts will perform at Imagine Concert

The annual Imagine Concert, dedicated to the memory of John Lennon and to the support local charities, will be shorter, more fun and more generous, producer Alan Pierson said.Many longstanding Imagine performers will be back, and several acts will make their Imagine debut at this year's concert, 7 p.m. Thursday 12/8 at the Gillioz Theatre.Local musicians organized the first concert in 1985, and it was held continuously through 2003. Pierson revived the event in 2009 and said he works each year to improve upon the previous production.

The concert will benefit Women in Need of the Ozarks, which helps single, working women not receiving any other form of public assistance. During the concert, a client of Women in Need will receive a car provided by a donor from the community, Pierson said.
