Title: The Name That BeaTune game
Post by: somedude210 on September 15, 2006, 11:20:44 PM
I stole the idea from a U2 forum i visit frequently, but its enjoyable to test your beatles knowledge. I start this game by giving you a clue as to a beatles song, then whoever comes up with it first, they get to make the next clue and so on ad infinitum.

clue (ill start with an easy one): virgin mary

now you guess the answer and who ever gets it right, says the next one

No answer yet?

OK, I'll be a bit more direct.

A Day In the Life was a title idea for this song recorded way before Sgt.Pepper.

Yes, Ticket To Ride...but why?

The village was called Ryde. There is also speculation that it was written about prostitutes having a slip of paper proving that they were in good heath, thus, a "ticket to  ride" but I don't know if that's true, John liked to joke around about things like that.

It's not a village it's the capital of the Isle of Wight!
And some of the fab four had been there on holiday so they knew what they were talking about.

I'll try to get prostitutes into my next clue but for now it's your turn or TE's, as you wish.

on a side note, i meant to have the game be that we use a play on words of the title of the song like the U2 song "miss sarajevo" the clue would be "balkin beauty pagent"

but this works out too, i just suck at this one.

Hey Blue Meanie - I think you're right about Piggies, but if no offense, I'll carry on (invoking some sort of statute of limitations after more than a month) if that's OK! Hmm, and looking a few posts above, I forgot to post a clue anyway!

My clue to a song is:

It's why the birds and the bees would be sad and lonely ...
