Own bands?
« on: January 30, 2005, 05:01:02 PM »

I notice some people here have their own garage bands, and I thought we should have a thread so they could tell us about it. Maybe post some music?
I used to have a band with my cousins, but we broke up because of artistic differences (couldn't decide on a name) and plus, I was the only one who could actually sing and play and instrument.

Im in a sort of band, but we havn't got a name, more we jam together.
We are doing a Silly Album at first; about 7 or 8 songs of our own,  but with a stupid context..lyrics that are humour and not altogether serious.
This is to get us familiar with the newly purchased recording equipment, and a small project to work upon.
At the moment, Im writing, trying to sing...(although the silly songs dont need perfect in-tune voices :)) ..Bass Player..and Album Art designer (posted the cover in Different Conversations).
Im happy with the progress, and some of the songs have some great bass/guitar lines..so we might use em afterwards..for our 'serious' stuff. 8)

I used to be in a band, but now we are more studio-based - ie we've had no gigs for ages!

I'll post something about the band soon, but if you want to hear some tracks, there a 20 downloadable tracks here: http://www.geocities.com/the_end_gb/music.htm

The best ones are:
See Her Smile
Liverpool Street
Dream Girl
Two Lives
For Us
Step Out Of The Haze
Better Off Alone

2000-2002: Guitar in For A Few Dollars More (hardcore)
2000-2004: Guitar in Striving Higher (melodic hardcore), released 1 EP and 1 album.
2003-2005: Guitar in Downslide (hardcore): released 3 EP's, toured in the Netherlands, Belgium, England, France, Spain, Germany and Poland.
2004-now: Guitar in MM (melodic hardcore/punk rock): released 3 albums before I joined.

I won't bother posting MP3's cause you'll hate them.

i had a band when i was 12 with a few friends of mine. as you can probably assume from our ages, we weren't that serious about it and just wanted to jam. we were introduced to the who at that time and wanted to break guitars and shoot gunpowder out of our drums, but our parents wouldn't allow it.

maybe i'll get the band back together.
